What should the smuggling community do when somebody trades us a gun and a PuP, or just plain asks for a Powerup slice?

When this happened to me, I always just traded everything back to the player and told them I didnt' do that. Then I would go to our player boards and post a reminder that it was an exploit and would be reported. Only once did the same person ask me twice... I reported him the second time. Alas though.... nothing happened. I don't really know how much SOE cares or has the inclination to do anything about it.

it's been fixed yesterday, so now they can trade any pup they want, they'll not be able to have exploited weapon (not upon slicing that is).

But the question remains, do someone (who doesn't know it's been fixed) who wants to have one have to be reported has willing to cheat?

for that matter, what about existing pup sliced weapons? Are they being purged?

The only thing SOE could make that doesn't suck is a vacuum cleaner. Fix the effing game, and I'll fix my account.

Report them to a CSR for wanting you to exploit.

Or you could slice all their stuff, get their money, and say "BTW, I don't exploit, so all your slices are legit."

Heh...if someone was still dumb enough to ask me to try this, or to try and trade p-ups along with their weapons, I would take the following steps.

1) /log the conversation as soon as the p-ups appear in the trade window.

2) Ask what the p-ups are for. Try to get the individual to admit what he's trying to accomplish.

3) Inform the individual that, since you're taking a great risk, the price would be 50k per slice.

4) Perform slices, use the table in my "How do I know if my weapon was exploited?" thread and report actual % lower than what the system tells you (ie: System says 27%, you tell customer it was 21%...but came to 27% after the special addition.

*Remember to screenshot system messages...for your own protection.

5) Return weapons to customer only after payment is recieved.

6) /report customer.

7) Screenshot your inventory clearly showing that you keep the p-ups, again for your own protection.

8) End the /log.

Hey...I only admit to being an honest player. Being an "honest" Smuggler is an entirely different story.
