The CU roles say that the only real weakness for BH is their crowd control, which is the smugglers main role.
Also, any idea what excatly "crowd control" means? I've read somewhere that DB's won't be instanteous, rather ona time I think and has a chance to be "aborted" I'm wondering if crowd control means that a smuggler has multiple ways of quickly death blowing enemy players?
These are just thoughts, pardon my ignorance if I've missed something(s) somewhere.
Thanks,
Aragorn

I think more in terms of evasion. I see a new and valuable feign death coming up. The quick deathblow sounds more like snipershot...

Its something Im looking into now, have smuggler and pistols is just going to give us more specials that do the same thing where as having BH gives us smugglers some great defence and slightly better attacks.
Personally Ive channged from going MSmuggler/MPistols/BH 0/0/4/0 to MSmuggler/MBH and now I'm looking at the best place to put the extra 23 points, possibly Med once I get a look at that or maybe Master Marksmen as well. Or get FS!
A lot of people might like to try Master Smuggler and Master TKA as you will now get some benefits from having unarmed fighting in your smuggler tree.
Also your crowd control will just be different forms of Warcry and Panicshot probably to delay the "warm up" timers on other people's specials much like the Shamen class does in WoW.

I had originally negated the MS/MBH template as too SP-hungry for me, as I wanted to keep novice merchant, or in the very least business 4...
But the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking my best option would be to respec to MS/MBH.
my thoughts on this are based on some of the stuff mentioned in this thread, but also from a purely aesthetic point of view. First, I see MS/MBH as a very balanced template, fairly powerful but not extremely vulnerable in any way. After using the specials from both profs thanks to the bug, I see that they can be used together as a very potent combination. Being able to hunt Jedi down is a bonus, and witht he skills of the two profs I think I would fare successfully in that line of work. From a tactical point of view, an MS/MBH also gets mitigations for BOTH Recon and Assault armors, as well as a wide variety of weapons. One could use their remaining 23 points to get some healing or to get a few more certs and a special or two for either rifles or carbines.
Aesthetically, being able to wear more types of armor, as well as being able to equip many types of weapons, including the renegade pistol and the Czerka Dart carbine, offer up a lot of cool "looks"
In summary, what I originally thought would be a very restricting template now looks to me to be a very diverse and flexible one, and is something I'm considering with great thought.

The only real problem with this template that I have come across as the fact that both MS and MBH are "overcharger" classes, Both classes are meant to top up or overcharge other classes like pistolier, carbiner etc. So we don't get all the skill mods we used to with the MS/MP template we are used too.
For the role I want to play it doesnt really bother me that much but I can see others having a problem with it.
Im thinking of putting my extra 23 points either into carbines/rifles or maybe if I'm really wanting mods I'll get 5 tree's in FS for the Acc and Speed mods as well as vechical control which I can see helping in jedi hunting. Probably the Defence mods too to become an uber defender.

Smuggler Pistoleer is a must for me, the stack on the armour is a must for me.
The one draw back I'm finding with SL, Commando, BH is no weapon class has assualt armour to stack with them.
I'm going
Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer Merchant for Kenney
Master Squadleader, Master Carbine and as much Commando as I can on Tig

I don't think the armour mitigation stacks from different professions so a 20% form Smuggler and a 20% from pistols only = a 20% overall mitigation to armour (movement).
If you have read otherwise please let us know.

Unless I'm mistaken, BHs don't get the magnificent Pistol Mods they used to...
I'm going Smuggler/Pistoleer/BH 3/0/0/0... and thanks to the spreading of attacks across trees, I'm going to be getting a new pistol special with Investigation I... though I forget what it is at the moment.

Since the Pistols range is, as it seems, hardcapped to 35, and there's absolutely no ability to wear RIS armor unless you take up Carbineer or a melee profession, as much as I was looking forward to the BH/Pistoleer/Smuggler skillset, it looks like I'll have to pass it up for some Carbineer trees for the armor and weapons with decent range.

No the Pistols tree doesn't get the same mods as before, but doesn't MBH as a whole get a ton of general ranged mods ?
