I noticed the new requirements for tk is also 2 handed swords does that mean our current template won't work, anymore?
Will we be forced to do the changes to the new requirments, or will skills be grandfathered in when cu goes live?

If you're a master of all three, you'll have to /respec your skill when the CU goes live, and you'll have to lose a master in one or more of the skills, and a good deal of your skill boxes in order to /respec skills to fill the necessary requirements for both Pistoleer(Pistol 4/Ranged Support 4) and TKA(Unarmed 4/Two-Handed 4).

So what is the triple masters planning? Dropping Pistoleer or Dropping TKA?

I think one of the big questions should be, how many of the smuggler specials can be used with a melee weapon? I haven't even thought to test that, any have any data? If they can all be used with melee, than I think that either combo would work. The main issue you'll have is that your smuggler crowd control abilities are best used while the mob is charging towards the group, not while it is right inside it. This is because any aoe damage done will "wake" it up, and you won't be able to blame it on the person doing the specials completely, since it'll be your fault for letting it get so close. I suppose you could switch to pistol to do the mez, switch back to knucklers to help do damage on the main mob. What will have to be tested for that is this, though: When switching to pistol, you center of being will no longer apply. Now, does the buff drop completely when you switch to ranged, or will it still be there, just not being applied. If it's still there, then when you switch back to unarmed, you'll get your evade back. Otherwise, you'll have to reuse center of being, which could cost too much ham during a heated battle.
I think those questions are really going to do it for me. If I'm about to die in a group, I'd love to be able to hit last ditch to sort of "take one for the team". The damage done would do well towards ensuring the survival of the rest of my group, even if they lost their tank, but if I hit last ditch, I'm probably about to die anyway. Then again, being able to run away while hitting last ditch with a pistol or ranged weapon would probably allow me to live longer myself. If all or most of the smuggler specials work with unarmed, I'll probably be going smuggler/tka, though.

I would drop TKM and just keep the defense lines. I believe the Dev's mentioned we could master 2.5 elites.
TKM is not going to be a a damage dealer really now... they're going to be a tank. Smuggler being a Mezzer, and Pistols will be some damage.
Armor negates the Teras Kasi evasion and defense modifiers, the devs have stated that much already. If you wear armor, you will lose the mitigation and evasion defenses of the Teras Kasi.
As for weapon specials, I heard Ranged specials for any ranged weapons and brawler specials for any brawler weapons, but no specials for the opposite type weapons. That might have changed though.

Thats my concern as well, i've been searching for data regarding this issue but haven't been able to find it as of yet.

makes me sad as i love the prfession but i am to much of a traditionlist where Smugglers and Pistols are concnerned. Rest of my skills i might take some medic so i can heal myself tho commando looks cool. Right now its going on what other pistol specials and certs i could get

Ok, I'm going to kill the devs if the brawler specials for brawler weapons thing is and/or stays the case. I can understand aimed shot, or ranged strike, but low blow and concussion shot? Why give us unarmed mods if we can't use our specials unarmed?

My only real concern, and Im sure it hascome up a million times already(just too lazy to look through all the threads)...is how they will let us remap our skills when it goes live.
I wouldn't mind giving up skills, but ill be furious if I loose the entire profession all together, because I dont have "Two-handed 4" or "Ranged weapon support 4"
Based on what I've seen now, Ill probably go master smuggler, master pistoleer, and Teras Kasi, 4040....I justcant let go of meditate, even in the CU, and power tech 4 gives the blast fist certification, which ought to be cool.
The basic Teras Kasi arts fit to a roleplaying degree on my character too
It never occured to me that some smuggler moves could be applied to unarmed, I had always thought they should have had it that way, if they rock on, definately doing that template.
