I'm being honest, for PvE, I wouldn't bother getting my armor sliced at all. I suppose if you really wanted a slice for PvE armor, either T3 deflection + T1 hardening, or T3 hardening only. Honestly though, it's not worth what it's going to cost you because of the rarity of some of the components used in those slices. Deflection slows decay, hardening gives a very, very small chance for the armor to absorb 50% of the damage the player would have normally taken.
It's not like armor will ever break anyway if you do it right. Currently 1/1 armor is the same as ADK'ed armor, never loses condition.

Mind telling me how? Because me 40k composite armor doesn't take well to the occasional visit at the clone center, and it sure does drop to 0 condition.

Repair it, eventually it will drop to 1/1 condition... then you'll never have to worry about it again until they fix the bug.

Last time I repaired my armor, it dropped to a negative value. I was confused and tried it on another part. Same result. Further attempts dropped the value even lower. Is that a bug? According to the system message, the attempt should have been successfull...

You have to repair it before it gets to 0 condition. If you repair it at 0, it goes negative.
