Well, start with reading the FAQ all over again. A lot has changed actually. There's a whole new combat system around now, and you'll probably have to buy all new armor and weapons. Old smuggler slice tools are now worthless, but you can convert any AUK's and WUK's you had into the new slice parts. If you do any slicing, charge and arm and a leg for it, as those parts are worth a lot more than any slice was when you left. I used to charge 10k per slice back then, now I charge 150k for weapon slices and anywhere from 150k to 750k each peice for armor depending on what parts it uses. The parts used really do cost a lot of money now, and a lot of smugglers changed over to Msmuggler / MBH to get the loots.

The new combat system takes some getting used to. You'll probably hate it at first, but once you get used to things it's not so bad. Could have been better, but you know how that is.

We still don't have smuggler missions, but they are in-concept again. Squad leaders and rangers are getting revamps, so SOE might be serious this time around. MBH's get the best loot from PvE missions, and the most credits from jedi missions. Probably a quarter or more of the total population now has some BH, half Jedi, rest crafters and other combat proffessions. Crafters aren't quite as important now as they once were, so a lot of them either respec'ed or quit totally. I could go on, but you'll see.
