Ok, I was sitting in a chair, thinking and watching a dancer up on stage.

Now, we all know how dancers are for inspiration, so when I noticed a crystal sitting on a table across the room.

So I started thinking about lightsaber onstruction, and then an idea hopped the shuttle and landed in my head!

We all know how Jedi use different Crystals in their lightsabers to get different effects, so what if smugglers could use the same system for weapons?

Say you had a Rifle. Any kind. Let's say a laser Rifle.

You're out hunting, and one of your enemies drops an unidentifiable piece of junk. You look it over, and decide to hang onto it, just in case. Later, you find a smuggler and have him modify your weapon. you think "Ah, what the hell. I'll let him see this object I picked up". So you show it to him, and he agrees to buy it from you. He identifies it as a certain type of plasma core. This one in particular has a rapid recharge rate, which would speed up your weapon considerably, and due to the nature of the ammo, would add a bonus amount of Heat damage.

These powerups would be applied in much the same way as Jedi use crystals, i.e. they would be dropped into the weapon (Which would probably require a revamp of all weapons to make them "containers")

Also, there would be different Powerups for different kinds of weapons, like handles, blades, and vibro-cores for melee, and power cores, ammo feeders, and calibrated barrels for ranged.

Decent idea, but I don't see how i am smuggling in this scenario.

That's the sad part, isn't it?


It'd take a decent Revamp to make any sort of entertaining smuggling in this game.
