Thread: Exp stopped early!?!

I was slicing locked containers tonight in coronet, just trying to finish up Slicing 2 so I could do weapons.
Suddenly, i get one of those strokes of great luck and get a guy who has 9 containers for me to slice. I only need 1600 more for Slicing 2, so I rejoice and slice them for him. But i notice that after I qualify: I stop getting exp from slicing!
Are we supposed to NOT get exp once we earn the level? I was under the impression (from all of my other proffessions) that you could earn up to double the amount of exp you needed for your level before you stopped getting exp and HAVE to train, even if it was the only branch of the proffession that used that type of exp. My DNA tree when I was getting MBE let me get extra exp when I couldn't get to a trainer because I was out sampling...
Is this the way it's supposed to be for Smugglers, or did I get shafted because Smugglers got nerfed?

Not sure but I did that same thing and got my xp, I used locked containers from the bazaar and used them to get another 1k in slicing xp before I trained to level 2 today.

Your experience caps out at twice what you need for the next level so if you're working on Slicing II your xp stops at 20,000.
There was a problem with the UI where it would suddenly stop showing xp gained. This was supposedly fixed in this publish. There's a good chance that you'll be able to see the xp you gained next time you log in, as relogging has always fixed it for me.

Yes that's what I thought, but it wouldnt' even report that I was getting exp. It hit 10k and stopped moving at all. No exp reported...it didn't start again until i had found a trainer, and then it went up just fine, but it started me at 0 exp for the new level.
It was early morning though, before they reset the servers....maybe it was just a glitch related to that.
Ah well. at least it's working now.

Actually, I think when you're going for slicing 2 that your exp caps right at 10000. I think when I was doing that grind that I only needed 100 points to get slicing 2, but when I sliced the container, I only got the 100 points instead of the full 250.
