Thread: 14/6....speed/damage. What kind of ratio is this?

I seem to be getting way to many speed slices...I though there was an even 1:1 ratio on slice chances..but it hasn't been even close. 16 speed to 4 damage slices out of my last 20 seems to be getting to be a normal ratio....anybody else suddenly getting way too many speed slices? What gives?

Everyone goes through streaks, given a long enough time line though, it does equal out to 50/50

Exactly. I had times where I'd have 6+ straight speed slices, then other times when I'd get 6+ damage slices and other times with I'd get about even. It all evens out in the end.

Luck has nothing to do with this. It's a pseudo-andom number generation algorithm hat yeilds predictable results. By definition it's predictable and simulates randomness.

I'd LOVE to give you my Powerhammer to slice- I need all the speed I can get.

It is one thing to say that it will even out to 1:1 in the end...it is quite another to prove it. The numbers that i presented are genuine and are the only numbers i have seen....and they are lopsided....Has anybody actually done a study of their slices. And how many roles of the dice does it take before it becomes obvious that it is balanced.....

its 1:1 I haven't capped slicing xp and not noticed the max slicing stats.

Life is but a gamble and I have weighted dice.
Master Smuggler and master TKA maybe master pistoleer but who knows how long it will before I finally switch from unarmed.

To truly prove it's balanced? A few thousand or so.... at least to start with.

Somebody posted about 4 months worth of data as a Master Smuggler. They did about 1500 slices for weapons and somewhere over 1000 armor slices, and the speed:damage and encumberance:effectiveness slices were pretty close to 1:1.

Statistically, you can't even begin to make a case with a sample size of under 1000, and even then you'd probably need several times that in order to have your data be considered solid.

getting 3, 4, 5 or even 6 of one type in a row isn't really a statistical anomaly even- 2^6= 64 or about a 2% chance of getting 6 in a row- every time you slice 6 things. Study statistics sometimes- there's a lot of freaky, non-intuitive things that happen and seem weird until you really look at it.

It's just the curse of the (pseudo) random number generator.

I got 8 speed slices out of 10 pre-nerf FWG5's a few months ago (man that sucked). Then again, I sliced 5 acklay power hammers for damage, in a row (that was sweet).

I am still counting and the count is now 18/6...speed/damage...not looking good.

Your sample size is still only 24, which is way too small to even attempt to draw any meaningful conclusions. When you've recorded a couple hundred slices (note: I said a couple hundred not one hundred) then we can start to talk about it.
