Thread: Feign Death Nerfed? Or am I mistaken?

Had a run in last night with some Jedi looking to gain standing by killing a non-FS TEF... more to say on that in a different thread... which ended badly for4 reasons:
- They went for my bike first. Horay for FP farmer tactics.
- There were 2 of them.(And seeing this, I ran because I am a punylittle panzy-zabrak when it comes to PvP)
- My armor removal went far slower than anticipated. Oops- forgot about that armor nerf... freaking 9 seconds+ just to get the dang stuff off!
- They incapped me even though I had a FULL CUE of FDs including one that had already ticked off and a system msg "You perpare to Feign Death" plus a FD Macro adding annother FD to my cue every .5
Basically, I relied on FD to give me an opportunity to get my bearings, planning on using a FoW to stand up at 100% and kick some factional posterior (which failed anyway, but oh well). In retrospect, as they were hitting me for a mere 175-250 points per shot, A little Synthsteak, a hit of Muon, some TKA Center, and my good VKshad a decent chance of taking one with me.
The important point is- why did FD fail? Is this something anyone else is seeing, my Smugg Brothers? Or am I somehow missingsomething? I suppose it is possible this isnt new, as I rarely PvP.

Sounds like you got really unlucky Kai. I've FD'ed in PVE this week no prob, haven't tried PvP yet as I'm still working on TKA

FD always has a chance to fail.. I've been using it heavily since jedi and the ranking system are now a big part of the game.. I used it to coordinate a hit on a rather large sized rebel group too this weekend.. It still works, it just seems like you have to really know when to use it, because it takes a while to actually work. Everytime I tried to use it at the last second to avoid dying, I ended up dying, but if I hit it before things got dire, it would work just fine. If you're severly outgunned just hit it right away and put in a call for help to your guildies and friends, giving them updates on who is camping your toon, what professions they are, what weapons their using and everything... FD is one of the most usefull intel gathering tools in the game

There's also a rare and seemingly random bug which prevents fd from working at all. I had the displeasure of having it happen to me while hunting ns at the forced labor camp about 1-2 months ago.

Umm i have a q..
If i feign death in pvp doilook like im a corpse. or just incapped?
Also.. what can someone do to u in pvp while ur fd?

You can not be DB'ed while doing FD. However....
If you feign death in PvP, you had best remove your armor. (Unfortunately with the latest publish, it takes time to remove it.) The reason you want to remove your armor before FD is that while you are FD, you can NOT DIE, but your enemies can pound your body until all your HAM bars are black and can destroy your armor if they desire by beating you until it's condition drops to zero. One death probably isnt worth a set of armor, so if you can't remove your armor, then don't FD.

the irony of that is they never seem to realise they're killing their weapon's condition while griefing us... hosers.
