I'm working on obtaining novice smuggler atm and I'm also currently working on obtaining master rifleman (currently 4-1-1-2). I was hoping if anyone out there have any feedback on this class combo. Any would be nice

There really are no linking skills or benefits from a Master Smuggler and Master Rifleman template as obviously DF is pistols-only. So the only common ground between the two is Novice Marksman.
That being said, Rifles are very powerful in PvP, moreso in many situations than pistols, if you intend to be on the offensive. Smuggler/Pistoleer is more of a support class in PvP as it stands now so while there is no direct correllation 'tween them, they are both very powerful in their own right and it depends mainly on your playstyle.
Play whatever you think is most fun, though. That's a lot of weapons xp for an elite marksman class, better enjoy it

Any rifleman is a powerful character with good weapons, and if you look at my sig you'll see I was a smuggler rifleman, one of the few out there for a time. You can use feign death with a rifle which is usefull at times. All the weapons and specials from rifleman are far more powerful than pistols. No one expects a master smuggler to whip out a t21 and start hammering your mind, I've caught a few people out with this. However I think rifleman is one of the most boring combat class out there. It takes no skill to tap the corrisponding f-key for headshot 2/3

I am Master Smuggler / Master Rifleman (check sig for dates).
They do not complement each other well, but let's face it...
they are both fun as hell to play! I was supposed to be a master dancer for
my first holocron but I cant give up rifleman or smuggler, so Jedi via holocron
went right out the window!
If you are looking for PvP power, go a different route.
Rifleman is powerful, but many PvP'ers have strong defenses now.
I don't PvP much but got a TEF and ran into an Imp the other night I couldnt touch.
He was firing some kind of pistol, probably Geo. I was hitting him with SS2 and then tried HS3.
I even switched rifles between T21 and Jawa Ion. It was like chipping away at a mountain with
a screwdriver. Due to my buffs and good armor I at least made the fight drag out a long time.. but I eventually succumbed.

Thanks for the additional info guys
I'm still unsure though what to do, I'd like to complete my riflemanbut it sounds like I should go with TK or pistol.

if you go rifleman combat medic compliments it very well nothing like a mind poison followed by head shot 3. but yeah smuggler and rifleman really dont do well together. although feign death is always a good way to take a break and get your mind back up lol

im going to be one soon. I dont really want to be one, except i dont wanna be one of the millions of TKM pistoleer smugglers that we see. AKA the cookie cutter template. if your not that, or a smuggler command, then you got balls, because every smuggler and their grandma is one of the combos above.
i just wish the low blow/panic shot specials worked for rifles/carbines so we could possibly get a little variation going on..........

I see your point, I kindadon't want to have a "cookie cutter template" as well. I'm probably going to finish up and get master rifleman while working on smuggler. Quick question though (sorry I've been out of the game for the last 3-4 months) does a master rifleman hold up against a master tera kasi? I have a few friends who are master tera kasi and they tear it up, I'd like to do the same but w/ a rifle

Sith-Defector...
Regarding your question about Rifle vs. TKA - It's all about the tactics and how well you can pull them off. If you are MR and let a TKA get to you, you will probably get owned (buffs and armor being equal). If they can dizzy you and knock you down, you're probably toast. However, if you play smart and well and keep them at a distance, they become the toast.
Smart planning is a must. For example, there is a food (Thakatillo?) that helps prevent knock-down. I keep it on my tool bar when I'm TEF'ed. I also keep a muon on my tool bar at all times.
