Smuggler Archive

So, I run home and log in at lunch, say hi to the guildies, grab a mission and head out. I got to the waypoint, pick one target, bled him, peace, then back off. He ticked and ran straight for me. I opened up with the pistol and for some unknown reason my toolbar changed from my pistols to my melee toolbar. Went to use a special and hit intimidate instead. Sure enough, I intimidate the target. Switched the toolbar back and finished him off and just pondered that for a few.

Just to test it out, I put intimidate and warcry on my pistol toolbar, then bled/peace another target. Tick, and he comes a runnin'. Once he's in range, intimidated. Figuring what the hell, I gave him a warcry also. It too worked.

Now, is this supposed to happen? I thought that those specials would only work if you had a melee weapon or where unarmed.

Is this a bug? Exploit? Or is this working as intended as we (Smugglers) need that unarmed line and thus can use it with our pistols?

I didn't have time to bug it as I had to come back to work, but wanted to know if anyone else has seen this or tried it?

nah, intimidate and warcry can be done with any weapon in hand. Its more of a shout thing than a weapon movment thing.

They used to be only usable when unarmed or with a melee weapon. I know because of their nature they should be able to be done with any weapon. I haven't used them since I finished my unarmed grind and got the you can do that with this weapon message when I was grinding pistol for smuggler, so I can't really tell you when it possibly changed. I do know they messed with warcry the last 2 days, so it may be an unintended side affect of those changes.
