Hi all, I am currently at Unarmed II, and I have only the unarmed branch to go before im a smuggler. But unarmed sucks...balls...big sweaty wookie ones.I tried killing huurtons(regular ones and matrons) and they take forever to kill, and only for a smidgeon of xp, when the pistol line flew by. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated

Some quick tips for unarmed.
1) Get some VKs. You are not certified but you hit at the speed of the VKs instead of unarmed speed. If I remember correctly, you are currently hitting once every 3-4 seconds. With a pair of 1.4 VKs, you will hit every 1.4 seconds for about 10 pts. less than without them.
2) Group. Whether it is a solo group, with a droid, with a pet, or some other way you need to group. I believe it is a 25% xp bonus for grouping.
3) Buffs. It cost a little on the front end but leveling will go much much easier. If you have novice medic that is also going to be a huge help.
4) Ubese armor. Low cost, relatively low HAM cost, high kinetic resistance. It pays off in the end.
5) Use your state attacks. I believe you already have stun. If not, I'm almost positive you have intimidate. Both will lower defenses and lower their damage output. Blind affects accuracy when you get that.
6) At the lower level, use berserk. You can't do other specials while berserk so use the state attacks first but berserk is a great skill for the novice brawler.
7) Taunt -- don't run. Taunt works from further out than ranged attacks and will pull a mob to you. It can often get around social mob behavior and that can be a very good thing.
Now, for stuff to fight. I leveled on crazed durni's on Corellia. They will give about 300 xp when not grouped. And you can outrun them if you need to.
Also on corellia you can clear a diseased vrlet lair for about 5000 xp (including the mobs)but you will have to mind the disease. Those things spawn quite a few vrlets and sometimes you get a matriarch which will be a little tough but if you are buffed, armored, using VKs, and you go berserk, you can probably do all right. I think they may have a ranged attack now so watch out for that.
The bracketset family isn't too bad and you might actually be able to kill a humbaba for about 3K. At unarmed II, it may con red so make sure you come prepared.
Hang out at the shuttle in Kor Vella and kill thugs and swoopers. You can also get loot and hopefully containers. You can also find low level meatlump spawns behind the Tyrena starport as well as behind the shuttle on the far side of town from the starport.
The Rogue CorSec base on Corellia is full of low level NPCs. I'm not sure what they will con to you and there are a lot of them so you may want to take a look at it and then go back after you have leveled if it is a bit tough. Just keep in mind that you will need 20 containers to get to slice I so killing NPCs now can do nothing but help.
There are quite a few other things I'm sure I'm missing but that should get you started.

Ah, young one, listen to wise Draevyn for he knows much.
Seriously, everything Draevyn mentioned is superb, you might also try heading to Rori and looking for the Leviasqualls. They are in the durni family, sort of, and are worth about 1,600xp a pop and you can backpedal faster than they run.
Like Draevyn suggested, use Taunt to pull one towards you and punch their lights out. Be warned though, they will hit hard if you are not wearing at least pretty good kinetic resist armor. One lair in the wild can net you approx 20 of the little buggers. A jackpot when you find them.
If you can get in a group or have some relatively strong pets, they can be had as missions from the terminals. They are level 25 missions if I remember correctly, it's been a long time.

Yup....Draevyn rocks.
I also stand 100% behind the idea of focusing on NPC's. Start building your container collection as soon as possible.
Once you become smuggler, you may find that Slicing 1 can be almost as tiresome as unarmed.
