Not to compete with "A Chuckle For the Smuggler" thread, these are not deals with strange customers, but moments that really made you feel like an outlaw.

I've been away from SWG regularlyfor a few weeks. Aprevious thread got me thinking again on the nature of the "Smuggler Experience". That frame of mind then lead me to the times when I felt most criminal in this game so far.

While I wish the experiences could have had more to do with actual Smuggling, they were definately "criminal fringe-ish" and Star War-sy.

It's not the only one, but the following episode from a month or so agois on my mind at the moment:

Time: Early Early in the morning (5-6 AM Eastern Time)close to Server Shutdown time.

Place: in the hills and mountains surrounding the Shuttleport in Doaba Guerfel, Corellia.

Situation: Critical. Mostly black bar on HAM. Can't equip armor. Trying to jump the Shuttle despite the "objections" of the local CorSuck Constabulary.

I'd just finished a mammoth Neutral Corvette marathon of 3-4 missions over the course of the previous evening. I'm beat down on both sides of the computer screen. I'm just trying get back to my house outside of Coronet City, place someloot on my Vendor, and log.

For a Slice customer, I take a detour to his house outside of Doaba Guerfel do the quick slice and Swoop back to the DB Starport. No problem leaving town, but when Itry to by aticket for the Shuttle to Coronet "ZANG!"

Some CorSec Yellow CONhas aggro'd me and there are more on the way. I'm already mostly blackHAM and I refuse to die so I run for it. Out the back of the Shuttleport, up and over the mountains right behind the city until they stop chasing.

It was then that I remembered that I probably built up massive negative CorSec on those Corvette missions that I'd just finished. Checked my faction screen and yep, -5000 CorSec.

Well, okay, just hop on your Swoop and take the long way to the next town or straight home overland. No problem right? Nahhh, this is a challenge. I'm a Smuggler and I'm gonna run & gun to the terminal, get the ticket, and moon my purple Twi'lek butt to those CorSec from the shuttle window! Ha! So I wait for the next shuttle to drop...

After 2 tries and who knows how many Joulesshocked intomy carcass, I still get chased back into those hills. The shuttle takes off. By now there are about 12 CorSec doing the "NPC Stroll" around the shuttleport. I'm thinking about just logging in the hills and calling it even. I'm tired. But nahh. I'm gonna get on that shuttle next time. Before the Server goes down too! My pride is eating at me. "The next time that Shuttle comes I'm making it", I tell myself.

It's so close to Server Shutdown no one is around. But then someone does finally come around to take the shuttle! YES! So I /tell him "Hey, I'll pay you 1k to bring me a ticket to Coronet City, Shuttle B". "No problem" , he says. He comes into the hills, I get the ticket and wait for the shuttle to drop.

When it comes, I run down putting as much of the shuttleport between me and the CorSec squad as possible. I don't even look at my HAM, activating the ticket from my Inventory window, whichI had open the whole way down, and I'm gone...

WhenI get to Coronet, I make a point of hopping my swoop and zooming right past the walls beforeI get aggroed again, making it safely home.

Now that didn't involve any big money or loot. But, after hours of play, and being dead tired, trying to get that shuttle woke me up! I wasendangered not from a mission, but just because I was a crook who was trying to catch a measly public shuttle and got "recognized" by the local cops.

I loved it.

Sorry for the length. Anyone else have a Reservoir Dogs outlaw "story" ?

Well it might not compete with that but here is my story....

Dear Penthouse.... Errrggg, ugghhh, wrong one, here it is...

Well i was in the spaceport in coronet when I get this tell from a stranger.

Stranger- "Hey, I have some hardware here that needs to be looked at by one of your "profession".

Me- "Sure friend, I'm the man your looking for..., meet me by the ticket counter."

Few minutes later

Me- Looking around with the emote command.

Me- "So what services can this lowly person offer you ranger."

Ranger- "I have these pistols you may be interested in, I hear your the best."

Me- "Sure I'm interested but for a traveler such as my self, I do need to support myself, so a "small" donation would be most welcomed"

Ranger- "Not a problem friend..."

Slice his weapons and trade them back

Me- "There you go, I hope my skill's will help you in your future, don't be a stranger if you need my sevices once again."

Ranger- "That I will, thank you once again, good luck to you."

Me- "you as well, but becareful of who you talk to about my skills, the walls have ears.."

Exchange bows and go our ways..

Not as exciting but that was the first time that I Roleplayed in game and had that feel of doing something illigal for a player, i was really getting into it! Ahhh, I wouldnt mind a few more of those. Dah well, there is my story.

Sending 10 smugglers for 3 days around all planets with contraband (sliced weapons and armor, spice, artifacts, rebel equipment, droids) to predesignated drop off points (one meet per day) while the 400 members of the (player) Bounty Hunter Guild were chasing them for 100k bounties.

This was the "Smuggler Dawn" player smuggling event on Naritus, hosted by my PA (=criminal non-factioned PA, Yazuka Crime Syndicate).

I will soon repeat this ... a week long so the hunters have more time to capture / kill the smugglers (none was caught in first event).

--------------------------

Having a pleasant conversation with some of our more successful bulk traders (Sif) , demanding protection money. And he said yes (a roleplayer) ... 5 % of weekly profits .. if our legbreakers can beat him up. So I asked one of my PA buddies (Teevei ... amongst Top 3 of the Bounty Hunter Guild and maybe the best 1:1 duelist on Naritus) to pay Sif a visit. Took him under 10 seconds to take Sif down (despite him being a decent fighter).

After that Sif pays protection money to YCS (first week 5 % for real, now "in spirit" ... and if someone else demands protection money from him we will rough them up).

Have fun

This was an ad I ran on our trade boards back in December when I opened my shop. It is based on the borvo quests you get from him when you meet him in the Moenia cantina along with shooting the random Borvo's Champion I find on naboo.

===========================================================

Your reach has exceeded your grasp

(In character)

"Your reach has exceeded your grasp." That's a quote from our favorite slime of Naboo. Borvo is worm. Not just in body but in character. Let me start at the beginning...

Several months ago, I decided to establish a presence on Naboo. Borvo had a reputation for running a good outfit so I stopped to see him. Its always best to let the "big dogs" know when you are moving into their territory. Borvo seemed pleasant for a Hutt (that immediately put me on guard) and only asked for a cut of my take and to show my appreciation (yeah...right) by doing a few jobs for him.

Now, I don't mind putting in work but this sorry excuse for a crime boss had me flying off planet -- at my own expense I might add -- impersonating a CorSec detective, and doing a little wetwork all in the name of keeping his slimy tail out of the brink. My reward for coming within durni's hair of getting on Dustrunner's hit list? 250 lousy credits! What a worthless slug!

Needless to say, his outfit is not nearly what its cracked up to be. I told him to his face I couldn't believe such a slipshod operation was actually run by a Hutt. Now, maybe I shouldn't have been mouthing off but when a so called "Champion" comes knocking on my door to persuade me to see the error of my ways, my response is a blaster bolt to the kneecaps. But, I'm not bitter -- not really -- I just decided to hit that worthless, cheap, slimy, lying, cheating, double-crossing slug where it hurts. His bank account. He can have the swamps of Moenia, I'm going to Theed.

Borvo wants a cut of my take? He's going to have to take it. In the meantime, I'll sell my spice in his backyard for a fraction of what he charges. Muon Gold and Neutron Pixie. 8K a crate. Booster Blue is on its way. Come see my "Prescriptions" vendor just outside of Theed.

The big box is only temporary. I'm working on a nice little Twi'lek from Jabba. Now that's a Hutt that knows how to run things.

Don't remember exactly how it went, but this has been my most rewarding smuggler experience.

Lady: Excuse me, but I hear you can.... uhhmm.. "fix" my weapons for me.

Me: What are you talking about?

Me: Where did you get this comlink frequency? I'm a law abiding citizen!

Lady: I got it from a friend, and all I need is for you to... polish... my 2 vibroknucklers.

Lady: I am a rare collector and I just want them clean when I put them on display.

Me: Well, I might be able to help you with that.

/trade

(she walks away and starts chatting with an NPC mob while I hide behind some bushes and slice her knucklers)

Me: I finished cleaning them.

Me: Turns out one had a bunch of junk on the blade and after I cleaned it off I'd say it is about 27% sharper then it use to be.

Me: I also dug out some dust from the vibro actuator on the other, seems like it is running around 30% faster then it was.

Lady: That will be perfect.

Lady: For display I mean.

Me: Of course, just don't let anyone play with these, they are very dangerous and some people may not like that you have items of this nature.

Lady: Oh don't worry, I'll keep them out of reach of children.

Lady: Thank you for cleaning my wares sir, I had my bank deliver funds to your bank in Corellia.

Lady: /whisper I left 20k creds in a bag under that fountain.

Me: You don't know me.

Lady: /walks away.

Now that was fun.

I posted this some time ago, but it's such a memorable story, I'll repeat it here...

I logged into Theed Spaceport where I had logged out last night. I was answering some mail when a /tell comes over asking for 600 credits so he could get to Tyrena. Now, normally, I don't think anyone would respond to such a request, but it was worded so politely I had to. I told him "One moment..." (he actually said "Thank you". and I finished up my mail.)

I stood and examined the individual. Looked like new entertainer clothes (I think, certainly nothing fancy) and he was holding a horn of some type. He had no guild, no badges, nothing on his bio. Must be a new player, and so polite! I thought to myself "Let's make this fun for both of us" as I also was going to Tyrena. Also, I still have that Turret Code Disk from the Warrens... I don't have an exact transcript, but here's the basics...

Me: How'd you like to earn that 600 cr?
Him: Nods.
Me: I've got this disk with some sensitive data on it, but the Imperials are looking for it.
Him: Gasps.
Me: Now, I'm a Master Smuggler, but they know I have it and are looking for me, but they won't suspect you at all.
Him: You want me to smuggle?
Him: What if we get caught?
Me: Don't worry. I'll be right there with you.
Him: Ponders.
Him: Ok.
(Traded disk, bought two tickets to Tyrena and gave him one.)
Me: Ok, let's catch that ship. And act casual!
Him: Yes, sir. I mean Mr. Jeret.
(Walk towards the ship).
---Luckily for the fun, there was a Scout Trooper on the opposite entrance to the ship bay. I stopped, looking at the Scout Trooper, amazed at the cool factor. Then I noticed.
(He's gone prone.)
Him: A Trooper!
Me: Run for the ship! I'll distract him!
(He runs to the ship, I run to the Trooper. I wait until he disappears.)
(Transport to Tyrena.)
He's over halfway behind a wall when I appear.
Him: Psst! Over here!
Him: We made it!
Me: I can't believe he fell for that! Well, it's me!
(He trades me the disk.)
Me: Good job. Here's a little something extra for your trouble.
(Tipped 10k.)
Him: Gasps.
Me: Don't spend all that in one place.
Him: I won't (Chuckles).
Me: Good luck. If you need anything, come to me, ok?
Him: I will, Mr. Jeret.
Me: Good. I have some business. See you later.
(Wave.)
Him: Me too. Take Care.
(Head out, pull the Swoop, and drive home. Come directly here to tell the story.)

Well, I hope you enjoyed my story. I certainly did enjoy the adventure and helping out a new player who played it out so well. Kudos to Wailin Hornblower on Radiant, just in case you ever read this post.
