before i get flamed, this is no mathematic formula, nor a hack nor anything else.
i found a far better formula based on murphys law.
it doesnt matter who comes for slices, everyone asks me to do a specific slice. "plz do a speed slice for me".

even if its just a simple bid to the slicing god, ill try to focus my thoughts (RL) on Speed. it takes dam much concentration but ull make it!
ok ... set up the tools. insert the clamp ... cut the right first wire ... concentrate on speed ... carefully click the other wire and wait for the sys message.
"huray, i got a 26% dmg slice"
no matter how often u try it, ull mostly get the slice u dont want to get. thats the point where i realized ive got hit by murphys law.

"everything that could went wrong, will do"
hmm ... maybe wishing the opposite slice would help?
then i got a tell from a guildi. he just found a heavy axe. 4.1 speed, 138-785 dmg, low ham and AP2. the perfect victim to test my theory.
"speed slice ... speed slice ... speed slice".
i set up the tools and gues what i got? damage
i sliced about 20 other guns that day and in18 of 20 slices, i got the wanted slice
so guys ... whatever u want to slice, just think about what u actualy you dont want to have

ok, it could also have been pure luck, but hey, who knows? people say the mind is stronger then anything else

You do realize that fifteen newbs are going to read this, try this, and get the exact opposite of what you are describing
The server gods know when you're trying to trick them, and they are very vengeful. Let's say you full them once, and pull this off. Well, they feel your glee and happiness the first time it works, and start getting suspicious. Well, the next time you try, you're going to have a devious mindset, and they'll feel this. They'll realize what's goingon. Then you'll probably get a graphics glitch and not be able to see which wire your clamp told you to cut. Or the server will jump your mouse over the other one.
Consider yourself warned. The server gods are subtle and filled with malice. You may trick them once, or even twice, but you will be paid back in full when they bring their firey retribution upon you.

btw, when someone tells me they want a particular slice on something, i just hand it back to them and tell them to find another smuggler.

i think random slicing is messed up. IRL if i took my car to a custom shop and told them i wanted them to make it faster, but it came back louder, i'd be upset. slicing is hacking.. kind of.. you would think you could choose what to slice the weapon for.

Dude you are so right.
There's a difference between being a newb and being a problem customer with a preconceived notion.
I'll explain the rules to newbs, but the people who come to me with a preconcieved idea that I can choose the slice typically turn out to be more time and effort than they're worth.

I would liketo carry a crate of simple knives with me.
That way, when a customer tells me they know a smuggler who can pick their slice, I'll make the following deal with them:
"Okay. Lets find your smuggler friend who can pick slices. I want him to slice these 10 knives for damage.. all of them. If he does it, I will give you 1 million credits. If he fails, you give me 500,000 credits."

you saying let smuglers choose their slice i dont think that fits as a smugler doesnt know how to make weapons or armour so how would they know exactly what their changing its trial and error basicaly. maby if they made it so smuglers with master in weaponsmith or armoursmith you could pick what you want to modifye as you know how it was built and would know what your changing.

Me liken that!
But this did put the thought into my head... Just how would you slice a knife (ugh, that's replete with bad joke possibilities already) to be FASTER? Make it weigh less? But then it should do LESS damage. Wait, no, I didn't say that. Someone will then think it's a good idea that a slice just transfers speed for damage or vice-versa.
Never mind.
Shutting up sir.
