Some random thoughts I've had....
No tools - Why? While not having to lug around countless crates of slicing tools is a major bonus, I still really like the idea of having a "slicing kit" with multiple charges to use for slicing. Not only does it lend itself a little bit more to realism (gotta fix that weapon with something, not just having it magically get sliced) I can guarantee you that people will whine about our pricing, and use the argument "Well, it doesn't cost you anything to slice!"
New/Old UI - Not really crazy about re-using the old UI. I actually got excited about having a new system from the ground up. I wanted that neat, big, ID-like window with the wireframe weapon or armor piece that the Devs described to us before. While the end results may be different, I wasn't really crazy about the old UI to begin with.
Weapon/Armor breakage - Love the idea. It makes sense. Easy to get around. Just carry a backup. I've always thought that having an illegally modified weapon wasn't for everyone. If you don't want to take the chance, you don't have to get the slice.
Picking how you want it sliced - Priceless. Now maybe people will actually come to me for their slicing needs instead of just buying from a WS or ASwith a Smug alt's vendor.
Now all we need is to keep pushing for actual Smuggling. When that comes, I'll be a happy camper. I know SpinningCloud will be, too.

I would have prefered some tools even if just to add a sense of realism but even without tools im going to charage as much as i can afterall they are stil paying for my time and believe me im expensive, also whiners pay extra per whine.

I was looking forward to having a new UI even if it was just for that shiny new feeling and nothing else.

I love this idea as well it makes sense that if youve been tinkering with your weapon (prehaps i should rephrase that) its needs to have a set back and scans dont really have anything which a half competent play cant get round.
Picking how you want it sliced - Priceless. Now maybe people will actually come to me for their slicing needs instead of just buying from a WS or ASwith a Smug alt's vendor.
I like the idea of customer interaction it adds more depth for the customer-smuggler relationship but i still dont like the idea of being a slice monkey so i will more likely only slice guildies weapons and my own, but if some one made a good enough offer i can be bought.

I think to complete the smuggler luv'in we need to be able to smuggle and i hope this is out in pub 20, though i suspect this isnt going to be the case.
They did mention the idea of slicing ship components which i would love to see if not when it goes live but in the future because i would love to slice my YT only to have the thing conk out on me during a fight and have to try and get the thing working again i think their is a lot of potential to this system.
See not all smuggler love should be the type between a prisoner and his big hairy cell mate who gets lonely at night.

I accualy like the no-tools part now. In ep6 Han set to "Slice" the bunker door with his bare hands ripping wires outta the terminal. Quick-n-dirty I like it.
As far as cost goesit cost me lots of time and training. "You dont wanna pay my price, become a Master smuggler your own self !!"

"Jamming" is a great idea I love it, but the way it currently is on the TC kills the whole thing.

This is my favorite part !!! Customize the weapons the way you want and it becomes truly yours.

Just to point out, Han failed to slice the bunker doors when he didn't have tools
I would have prefered a single tool that required experimentation on so people don't complain about our prices.
But it seems we are all going that way, ID's use nothing, Doc use nothing, Can't wait to see armoursmiths use nothing but still ask for 50k a peice LOL.
