Wes Posted this:

Increase Attack Speed: This slice increases the attack speed of a weapon. OrderTotal BonusCustomisation Rating 12%5% 24%15% 36%30% 410%50%

Enhance Damage This slice increases the weapons damage range. OrderTotal BonusCustomisation Rating 1 2% 5% 2 4% 15% 3 8% 30%

Am I the only one that thinks these % bonuses are incredibly low? Hell, I'm almost willing to take my chances with the 3% Damage slice in the current system - because Maybe, just MAYBE you might get one thas 30%.

8% Damage increase is a little ridiculous. Unless you can stack the slices, like having 3 "Teir 3" slices for a total of 24%, which is respectale - but you've just used 90% of your customization to make it meerely "respectable".

I was soo looking forward to the slicing changes, but now I have mixed emotions.

Between this and the weapon breakage after 3 shots, I dont think I'll be slicing anything for a while yet.

Thoughts?

With these numbers, I seriously doubt we will be slicing a lot of high end weapons. People will bring us their crappy grinding weapons - a bonus is a bonus, and when it jams it will not be a big issue for them. Also, the crazed tells to fix weapons is going to get old really fast. Plus, no new UI just shows how little actually went into this part of the "revamp." We waited how long for this? And just getting our name in the pub notes everyone jumps out of their skin.

Anyway, I am bummed, but there is still no profession I'd rather be (just not gonna fly the master tag for a little while).

I agree.. I will never be anything but a smuggler first. But one has to be disheartened with poor mods like that.

<--- sad.

MaybeI am misunderstanding since this is the first thread I've read about the new slicing, but that doens't look that bad to me...

For speed, it looks like you would see a 22% increase using all 4 stages and making it 100% customized...that's not bad. Especially compared to what we have now. For damage it looks like at stage 3 you would have a 16% increase, without knowing what stage 4 has from your quote (or post, I dunno which). If we can get a 16% increase in damage, and still 50% of customization left for speed, then you should be able to get to stage 3 in speed as well to give the weapon an increase of 12% in speed and 16% in damage. A total of 28% overall increase. That is a "good" slice in the pre-CU slicing. Not Great, not perfect, but good.

Am I right?

ya, but from what I've read, the slices DONT stack - so the most you can get is an 8% slice.

Right, I just got to that thread from Wes...I still think they stack But if they do not, then yeah, it is pretty low.

Sad... we finally get a little "love", and it turns out to be sh*tty. Why am I not surprised?

also, the closer you get to 100% customized, the more likely it will "fail." No one is going to want us to push it that far if it breaks in just a few shots. So a 12% damage slice is just not worth it. ADK it and slap a power up on it, but a big nope on the slicing.

Alright, time to clear up a few things about the breaking issue. Do the weapons have a greater chance to break the more modified they are? Yes. Will a 100% modded blaster break after a few shots? No. Absolutly wrong. Read the Publish notes from Tiggs on the matter. It will have a greater chance of breaking, around once every few weeks. Two to three weeks is what I read I think. It's NOT going to break after a few shots. The time it takes to break on TC-Prime has been greatly accelerated so the weapons can be tested for repair by Smugglers, not so people can run around and level with them. Once slicing goes on live, the breaking factor won't be such a factor anymore.

Although, those percentages really do suck.

My friend I am well aware what the release notes say- but sliced weapons on TC are coming "out of tune" after a few shots. As for your insider knowledge of why the breakage is sped up - post a link to where you read that please.

When trying to repair them, they are successfully repaired and their condition drops to 0. Can't tell me thats working as intended.

It is likely they are breaking too quickly as if they are speeding things up for TC they tell us (last time they tried was with maintenance and the condemnded building code - the system broke completelyand it took a publish or two later before it got fixed so I'm guessing they won't be trying it again). It has been reported as a /bug as Tiggs said clearly the rate should be once every two weeks not once every two fights.

When trying to repair them, they are successfully repaired and their condition drops to 0. Can't tell me thats working as intended.

Again, that's a /bug.

The Shiro Clan of TC -
...has successfully tracked Tiggs
...is still tracking down more bugs
NB: Any comments I make on TC code can and often do change
before they reach live and may not reach live at all, please read my
comments with that in mind.
