I used to be a smuggler so I have crates of these hanging around.

I think I read that AUKs and WUKs can be converted. I have crates of these and they are not converting for me. Do you have to be a smuggler to convert them?

I also have crates of knives and clamps. Should I just delete them or do they convert to something useful.

I looked through the FAQs and did not see this addressed in there.

Take the AUKs and WUKS out of the crates, then convert them individualy...

Heya

I do not think you have to be a Smuggler. But here is how it work. You need to uncrate a WUK/AUK and then on the radial menu of it you will see "Salvage". You hit it and voila, one slicing tools.

Molecular clamps, FAN and laser precision knives are now useless, altough I would keep a crate for nostalgia sake.

I don't get the salvage option on my kits.

It's on the radial menu for the individual kits after you take them out of the crates.

Took them out of the crates. Either you need to be a smuggler or mine are bugged.

Can anyone confirm that non-smugglers can not salvage WUK/AUKs? I'll get a smuggler to look at them for me in game later.

Yeah those are junk, just don't do what I did with about 4 crates of AUK's and 4 crates of WUK's I had laying around a few weeks ago when I hadn't returned to the smuggler profession yet and hadn't been reading anything on it since the CU. I had heard that they were still useful, so in trying to just get rid of them I threw them on a vendor for 2K per crate. You have to excuse me now while I return to banging my head against the wall HARD
