Well, I'm new to the *cough* club. I've done a few slices now as a master and am fairly comfortable with the process. So I'm reading the FAQs and go to see what the page on weapon caps looks like. I'm sure you all have thought about this before, but it just hit me today as I was trying to 'enhance' things for a customer. A crafter can craft a weapon that has a higher dmg that we can slice. For example, the high cap scatter pistol can be crafted to have like 960 max dmg. But we can only slice it up to like 916. So basically, we can upgrade the less than perfect weapons to be still far inferior to the uber crafted weapons.

I'm still trying to figure this one out. It doesn't hurt the WS if we can slice over their cap. All it hurts is us. So what happens when the maxed out weapons are all that is crafted? The prices drop on them so that the masses can afford them. Then our dmg slicing is utterly useless.

Balance. It hoses up the balance of the game. Of course, glow-sticks have done imfinately more damage to the balance, but that's why there are hard caps now.

Balance. This was all done in the name of balance. The CU was to balance all professions combat wise, so to further on that they made it so the new slicing system couldn't slice anything above crafting caps because then it would be unbalanced. Of course if we could slice above caps then everyone would get the same slice and all the weapons and armor would still fall in the same.... balanced.... range.....Ok wait, scratch that. Let's say you have two players, ones works really hard and can afford to buy weapons and armor crafted at caps and has no need for slicing, and another player who has just started can't buy the best armor, but you still want balance so the smuggler can at least slice the lower end armor to just below..... caps....and......ok wait scratch that too. You see they want all the comabt professions to be balanced so in order to do that they had to eliminate the uber armor and weapons that...everyone.....had....before CU.....crap! Wait I got it, to balance all the combat professions they need to make it so no combat profession is any stronger than another so that is why they have....an....alpha class....like...Jedi........................

Uh, nevermind.
