Hi. I do apologize for prolly not searching as much as I could for answers through these forums, but I have a rather simple question.
Been trying to get some weapons sliced that are near the damage cap. It has not worked out as I am told that the message reads something like 'the weapon has reached its damage limit'. However it has not. It was my understanding that a slice that would go over the cap would simply take it to the cap.
Is this false information? If not, any tips I can give to our smugglers to get this done?
thanks

I believe this is FAQ material but since it's on a subject that personally pisses me off, I'll reply here - it's false, unfortunately. Logic dictates it should work the way you were told, but it doesn't. Slicing "above" a cap will not allow the weapon's attribute to be set to the cap.
Why this is, is really beyond me. Poor coding, I suspect.

And actually, the slicing damage cap is BELOW the crafting damage cap. So... if a weapon is close to the crafting damage cap, it's very probablyalready above the slicing cap, so you won't be able to increase the damage at all with slicing.
Yes, it's annoying and insulting and makes no sense.
