can master smugglers buy as much faction as they want if they are the highest rank in their faction, or is this just a bug. cause i've seen somepeople selling faction for 150cr a point, and one claimed that since he was a master smuggler wiht the highest rank he could but as much as he wanted, i was under the impression that you could only buy 500, and it wasn't worth what you paid for it.

You can only buy up to +500 but if you sell it in increments of 500 you can just keep replacing the 500 then sell 500 more.
So you can sell infinite faction as long as its in batchs of 500.

Not entirely correct, you have to maintain your 200 faction limit. so you are looking at less than that. I might be able to hit around 300 transfered if I work it right, but you cant do it in 500 faction lump sums I dont think. Or at least I haven't been able to in all the time i've been doing it.

Doh I forgot about the 200. If you were at 200 and bought in incrememts of 125 you could sell 375 faction per batch.

I have read some post on buying faction most of them saying the opposing faction wont sell them to you, but none saying your faction wont sell them to you. I have tried overt, and covert and nothing about donating to a cause..So what i gather is i need to be neutral to be as smuggler....and cant partake in the GCW, or i can be a smuggler with a faction but cant buy or sell faction?? fockin confusing can anyone offer insite to this problem please. thanks

Hi,
Iwish to buy some faction but was wandering whether its worth me just getting smuggler/underworld 4 myself (have plenty of pistol xp) and buying it. Is it worth doing? can it be done like this?

that would not work. since you cant buy FP when you have over 500 of it.. so you would need a friend. and the loss of FP alonewouldnt be worth it. especially since its 10k per 128

Hey Mox,
I've thought about doing this myself recently. The thing is, Smugglers can only buy faction up to a total of 500 (300 over the faction minimum). We can also only buy them in chunks of 10 (for 1k) or 125 (for 10k). If you were to become a smuggler with the desire to crank up your rank to colonel, you would have to:
-buy your faction points to the cap of 500
-delegate your faction points to someone, taking the faction point hit according to your current rank
-continue until your friend has enough faction to delegate to you for a promotion, where he/she would also then take a hit on faction points
It's possible, but you'd need to work out the math to see if it's really worth it.
I personally plan on starting a buisness to sell faction points, and I would be more than happy to help you out in obtaining the faction points that you need. One of my next in game goals is to reach Colonel myself, so that I could delegate more faction points without throwing most of them away. Contact me in game and we'll try to work something out.

Are you an active faction member -in other words combatant or special forces- or are you On Leave? My experience so far is that people On Leave can not buy anything from the recruiters..
