Thread: A message to the Devs: What I REALLY want from you.
And no, it's not the revamp ![]()
I EXPECT the revamp.
What I want from you is a few simple things. Or at least they seem simple over here.
1. For you to listen to what we ACTUALLY want. Because, to most of us around here, whenever you say you're giving us something we asked for, it seems as if you filtered out request through the Altavista translator into aboutten different languages, then back to english, before reading it. For instance, we say
this: We want viable player smuggling and a contraband system that means something. We also don't want imperials to get off scot free because that is stupid.
While you seem to read
this: We want smuggling viable of the player and a system of contraband that he means something. We also do not want imperials to start outside of scot we exempt because that one is stupid.
2. THINK of what you're doing before it gets to live. I did the Clone Armor quest while it was bugged. I recently received my set of armor in Publish 17. But so did the people who ALREADY got their set when they did the mission... Thanks, you just gave all those people a free set, which allows them to sell one for profit. Which ruins the market for people like me who were hoping to sell their ONE AND ONLY set. When a droid is generated from a deed, there is NO way of knowing who crafted the droid. /examine, using the stats window in the datapad... nope! Well, I mean, the DE's are so screwed over anyway at this point, who cares right? "Hmmm, the artisans with their CL 1 are getting killed by bunnies while checking their harvestors... we'll first tell them we meant to do this, then, instead of solving the problem by fixing the awful PVE damage multiplier, we'll ruin Ranger." JUST THINK FOR ONCE!
I think that's it, for now at least. I'll add more as I think of it.
LOL, I particularly like Point #1.
So much stuff is added that no one even wants.
I have a pretty big list of things that should have top priority.
- Fix the GCW
- Do something about Jedi overpopulation.
- Smuggler revamp
Shame.
If there is gonna be Smuggler revamps, I would enjoy being smuggler if I can:
( sounds kinda harsh on others so why not make it 'Special Forces Only' )
Players:
- Slice player bank accounts ( obviously with a really high end difficulty but were smugglers come on )
- Steal from players ( The only stealing is if you said "give me weapons and I slice for you" and not give them back lol )
- Slice player vichiles to explode ( players leave their vichiles around as smugglers lets show them why not too )
Player Cities:
- Slice Cities ( Example: Im Imperial going to Rebel City, I can slice the cities tax to go high-sky or steal from them )
- Slice City Buildings ( Example: I slcie garage, another player comes to repair at that garage and instead gets disabled )
Before I go on what does people think of the player smuggler abilites I thought of?

Do I need to go on? Oftentimes, we think of great ideas in theory...but they can turn into really bad stuff if we give it to the playerbase. There will always be people that maximize the grief potential in anything. Putting stuff like this in Smuggler makes us common criminals, not Smugglers.
How about we smuggle?

While you may not have figured it out yet there is a real person who put real time into getting the items you wanna take from them or disable. Veela gave you honest andfair reasons why your idea's would never fly, rather then be cool about it you go and act the smart ass, good work. ![]()

I have to say Surun that your ideas have a theme of griefing to them. You seem to want to screw with other players for no point other than knowing you screwed with someone. Like the slicing the garage idea. Since you have no control over who got screwed I fail to see any contextual point to it other than you getting your jollies griefing strangers.
Sorry, none of these ideas really say "smuggler" to me.

There are (unfortuntely) a million ways you can be a griefer in this game. Why would you want to put in more ways? Sorry but every idea in your post would be greifing in pretty much any respect.
