as a smuggler since a while now, I always asked myself a question:

can I buy FP as neutral ? I know it's possible on TC, and I'd like to switch from rebel to imp, but -5k fp is abit tough to level back up.

Well I don't know the answer o your question, but getting back 5K isnt hard, it is just one hell of a lot of delivery missions.

No, you have to be a member of the faction you want to buy the points from.

Smuggler_Caylin, Smuggler Correspondant, in reply to "What's a Smuggler": I wouldn't know, I haven't seen one yet myself.

Seriously, I mis-read that question and I think I may be wrong. I just found this in a really old post:

Q: Is it possible to buy factions points even if you are in the negatives for that faction? example: I am rebel = -5000 imp... can I buy imp faction?

A: Yes as long as your are neutral and you have less then 200 rebel faction you can buy imp faction upto
+500.

So I may be wrong up there in that post. Now I am doubting myself. "Oh, great, now I have guilt!!"

I've always thought that you couldn't buy faction as a neutral, because everyone always says that that tree is useless for neutral smugglers. But now, it would make sense if you could buy it for yourself up to the 500 cap. As a neutral, the /delegate command doesn't work, so you're unable to sell it, but you should be able to buy yourself out of the hole for either faction.

Plus, he says it works on Test Center, so I'm pretty sure it should work on Live.

ok cause it DOES work on TC as I did it. so I was wondering on live, I also was 100% sure it was not possible but doing it on TC made me wondering again.
