Thread: Is there a new slicing exploit about?

I've already sent a ticket about this. I just hope its my paranoia.
I've had a few clients in the last few days bring up sliced weapons and ask for a slice in an unsliced stat - for example, I had someone bring up a damage sliced powerhammer asking for a speed slice. These clients are also experienced PvPers on the server - not CDEF wielding, Melon eating beginners like I'd suspect.
After I'd inform them that the weapon had already been sliced, I would get a response along the lines of "Are you sure you can't slice it?" and "Oh, ok" afterwards.
This experience typifies about 20-30pct of my slicing experience for the day concerning weapons. (The rest is getting a 15pct speed slice on E-10s 
) I'm just sharing in order to either calm my concerns or confirm my paranoia.

Well, no exploit is performable until its exposed.
I don't like the fact that since 10.2 I've been getting these slicing request encounters.

Damnest thing I just had two people on VALCYN Server do the exact same thing to me last night. I didnt think anything of it until now.
I would be quite interested if this is a new exploit or some sort of hoax for the extreamlly gullible and insane.

This has been happening to me off and on ever since I started slicing, which was quite a long time ago.
I'd just chalk it up to ignorance/inexperience/misunderstanding with regards to slicing by a sizable portion of the non-smuggler population.

The only odd thing about it is that it hardly ever happened to me. Ive been a Smuggler for some time and I cant rember the last time someone asked me if I could slice an weapon that has already been sliced.
Usually they give it to me and I say I cant slice it sorry its already been done. They dont come out and blantantly ask can I get a damage slice on my speed sliced weapon.
This happened twice yesterday and I knocked it up to beeing noobs. Now I've begun to wonder.
Things that make you go hmmmm.

Yeah, I see what you're saying, but I can still only chalk it up to ignorance or misunderstanding on their parts... an odd cooincidence, I agree, but stranger things have happened.

I get this alot. I don't think that the people check there stuff honestly. Or they think its unsliced since they bought it from a vendor saying it unsliced. I don't take any real concern into it, just people in a rush. If there is something thou I would sure like to know. I hate the fact that they are leaving this slicing bug in the game.

Yeah I had a couple people do the same to me the last couple of days. Vary experianced people. I dunno what they were thinking but, I just brushed it off as nothing.

I've had a few people do the same.
"I know it's speed sliced, can you get a damage slice on it?"
At first I thought it was noobishness, but there have been some people playing since Beta 3 who asked.
Now, I wonder. I hope there isn't some new exploit going around. I would not enjoy another round of bannings in the smuggler community.

Similar experiences ever since I started slicing about a month ago; perhaps a few more in the last few days, but I know my clients pretty well and /tell with them a lil -- I think that some of them would have specifically told me what they were expecting rather than simply accepting my, "it's already sliced" comment.
Somethin to think about for sure, but I've heard nothing solid or suspicious.

could it be that while trolling our boards, someone saw the list of smuggler wants, and misread that we would like to be able to choose the slice. and is now spreading the rumor?
(paranoia off, sarcasm on)
or, maybe it's the CSRs actualy trying to do something about the P-up exploit? say, target the scum that actualy say yes to that?

Some people don't read the tag.
If it's an exploit... I honestly don't know of it or how to do it. I'd welcome a PM if the thing is actually something that exists.
