I mean really? why? I have yet to Smuggler anything or engage in Smuggler type activities. Please allow for at least when JTL Smugglers to have there own ship and run Smuggler missions.

I think a cool idea would be to place smuggler terminals at places, like Jabba's palace, or Valarian, or even in some cities like Moenia. Then, have the imperial crackdown really be a crackdown.

1. No sliced, or illegal items like spice would be allowed on players as they try to pass out of the major starports. Smugglers would have a modifier that would allow them to "chance getting the necessary equipment out of the starport.

2. People could register on the terminals if they needed to have illegal goods moved from one planet to another...and "contract" smugglers by writing a small summary of what they need and placing it on the terminals, and what they offer to pay...which would be deducted from their account half/when the smuggler takes the mission and half/when the smuggler passes the checkpoints listed by the client.

3.The terminals would givea place for people to hire out smugglers without having to spam it. Any smuggler in the area would get an email from that terminal saying that a job is listed there. That way the smuggler could respond quickly to their customers.

4.These terminals could be a good way to profile that maybe a guy needs a slice or maybe a weaponsmith/armorsmith needs some slicing done. They could post what they need done, and how much they are willing to pay for the services, and then the smuggler can know ahead of time how much equipment to bring and figure costs while he looks at the mission. The smuggler that takes the mission first will earn the job.

Those are just some ideas I had about trying to make the profession more smuggler'esque.

I do sometimes smuggle for other roleplayers. It can be so much fun if done right. But there have to be others involved to patrol and check your cargo as well

Anyway, I think smugglers are stillcalled smugglers, because SOE thought we would really be able to smuggle sometime more than a year ago...

It fits nicely into the star wars universe.. our profession isnt that bad off its just that we dont actually smuggle anything. It is sad.

ummm...our profession is WAY bad off BECAUSE we don't smuggle squat. There is currently NO logical reason for us to be called smugglers. We're crappy fighters based on the skills we get from smuggler and the only other thing we do is craft...and even then can't use experimentation like other crafters can.

Oh, and we get to deal in fp...IF you're not a neutral smuggler like I am rendering one fourth of my skill boxes useless...except that I can understand those hypnotically twitching lekku.

I agree that "smuggler" is the wrong term for our profession, and after playing KOTOR I beleive that "scoundrel" is a better word...

So heres a idea for ya all, split the smuggler class in 2, one "Scoundrel" class and one "Smuggler" class, let the smuggler smuggle and the Scoundrel slice stuff, make drugs and make shady connections
