Hello all
I am a returning vet (played at launch) and I just recently started a new character. There have been many improvements madein the game and I am very pleased.
My character is currently able to obtain either novice pistoleer or novice smuggler with his current skills and pistol exp. Smuggler would be fun and it is my goal for this character, but pistoleer would provide new skills, pistol certifications and missions. Would I be ill-advised to obtain pistoleer skills before I begin smuggler? After all... smuggler XP is granted through pistol XP correct? I read that on my skills tab in-game and I was dumb-founded. If someone could please verify that for me it would be greatly appreciated. The root of the question is as follows; Is it worth it to go smuggler before the revamp, or should I wait and build up my pistol skill for now.... becoming a smuggler when the revamp begins? Either way I would like to become a master smuggler/pistoleer with the meditation line from TKA thrown in.

The slicin part of the revamp is suposed to come down with Pub 19, other than that we are broke at the moment. I would suggest, although Smuggler IS the best community and the most fun proff in the game 
, that you do Pistoleer first. On a side note though, pistol xp is easy to come by in a Dant hunting group so you might be able to get both pretty quick if thats your goal.

Thank you everyone.... that's what I was hoping to hear, just wanted to hear it from some smugglers first. Thank you very much.
On another note, is there any word on the smuggler revamp? Will slicing XP be implemented? I would love to be able to earn XP per slice rather than using my pistol. Thank you very much for your help, it is most appreciated

From what I have heard, slicing xp will never be reimplimented.
Also, Smuggler isn't very broken at the moment. We have nice specials overall, but only a FEW useless ones (Panic Shot)
