Hey Folks,
I got to say that I love the idea of the new concussion shot in theory... in practice its getting me beaten up worse than using last ditch at full health.
Here's my problem, whenever I manage to mezz something I see the +root+ symbol and promptly congratulate myself. I then get to witness my avatar shooting the target again therefore letting it had me my perverbial *cough*....
I have a default attack selected as body shot and have normally been clicking away from the target after using concussion shot. Even not targetted my avatar often takes it upon himself to shoot anyway. The only way I've been able to ensure that I don't hit again is to unequip my weapon so I'm "unarmed", target another guy, initiate combat and reequip my weapon. Just seems ridiculous to need to go through that to use something "fixed" to "working as intended" status.
Advice, admonitions, general sarcasm welcome as usual... simle request smuggler to smuggler is that someone answers my question in there someplace.
Yours,
Antonius

Just turn off the auto-attack. You probably have an attack set up with a little check-mark in the corner. If you [ctrl]-click to turn that off, you won't auto-attack and the root will hold.
Option two would be to deselect the enemy that you just rooted. Make sure you do it quickly, though.
Lastly, make sure that you aren't using a weapon that does Damage Over Time (DOT) like a flame thrower. That'll break the root as well.

As above, but also check yourself if you start getting laggy in fights. Once or twice, I've dropped a mez on a target and, due to lag in the fight, managed to drop another damage shot on the MOB I just hit with CS.
