Thread: Support Needed if you can stomach it

I've posted a proposal in the GCW forum. Read to the end of the thread and you'll notice that with Auraboron's input, and actual, easy to implement smuggling-for-players system is now incorporated. I'm very happy that the GCW forum guys led me to think along these lines and i really hope that Helios or JFreeman spot it and take up the cause.

Please read it through, and show your approval in that thread if you do indeed approve.

Yeah, I know. Whining about blockades and starport limitations.....that's what screws us Smugglers over. Some other players not wanting to RP in an RPG.

It's not even RP


It's not being willing to suffer minor delays and small time sinks for the greater good. It's a very subtle way in which the game has changed.


And to think the first sign was removal of 10 min shuttle waits...and look at us now





It was about living in a world versus playing a video game, and the sad thing is thatthe powers that be tore down the world to build a Jedi video game

I'll say one thing though, I misread what you said about disabling the 'travel' option as disabling the ability of people being able to land there at all.. which made more sense to me (especially as people can go on leave).

Did you guys see in another thread about FP AFK grinding, that Karmii called for smugglers ability to buy FP be capped at 10k per day OR week? Sheesh... this guy is arrogant...

Very nice... It would be awesome to have some real cityfighting... Here's something I'd like to add... What if each city had to be taken a different way? Whether you plant charges (Commando), hack asecurity system (Smuggler) or release a deadly virus into the air vents (Bio-Engineer) each city should have different objectives... And there should be a different reward for each city... Whether its an icrease to faction gain, a reduce in faction perks, an increase in faction missions, access to new weapons, or even access to bigger and badder faction NCP's...There should be strategy involved... I got this idea from a game thats totaly strange and different, not remotely likeStar Wars, called, "Star Wars Battlefront" ... And, while I like just about everything youproposed, I don't really like the smuggling idea... It just seems to"factionee" for smugglers and not "scummy"...I don't want to help Rebels win a war, and I'm not a rebel general... I just want money ...But everything else is great!

I'd had the same thought.



My ideas were4 kind of mission types to possess a city:


Offensive



  • Occupation of 5 key city structures (add in here your excellent different slicing mini-game for different professions)

  • Assassination of key city personnel (to be killed in a tight time window)

Defensive



  • Defend 5 key city structures from npc assault

  • Defend key city personnel


And for the missions to be either Combatant or SF.




So thenyou a nice amount of variety, for PvP and PvE. And you can mould the missions to the planets and/or JtL war.
