ok let me get this right... smugglers are charging 5k a slice nowadays. well what do u know. i have been a smuggler since august of last year. i have stuck it out and will continue to do so. i just find it fun to slice weps and armor. i don't mess wit spice or faction points. i only charge 2k a slice. i used to charge 1k a slice but all the prices for supplies went up so i went up 1k. i have a pretty big client list cause people know me from back in the day standing in bestine slicing. all i ask is to be fair wit me. a good tip here and there is always nice. and i do get alot of them. i slice in my guild for free and i still make money on slices. don't be greedy. just enjoy the game... remember it's a game!

I think every smuggler should charge what they feel a slice it worth. Personally I think 2k is waaay underpriced but that's your decision. I personally charge 8k per slice if anyone asks, but that's just me

I think a smuggler should charge what he wants....it's the MS's that give them away for free that honk me off. I started on july 3 and Smuggler was the first profession I mastered and I have kept it since,,,,I started charging about 2k a slice, now I charge 5k - 8k depending on my mood. I largely just slice for myself now though. I don't care too much for slicing for the public anymore...sometimes it is too much trouble.

I charge 5k per item and everyone seems fine with that. Heck, they pay 10k for just 3 hours of doctor buffs and what we do is permanent. People need to realize the real value of what we do for them and when we give it away for free or too cheap it fosters the opinion thatwhat we are doing for them has little value.

I give the person a choice before the slice
100 credits per %
or
2k a slice
Call me cheap but I've got repeat customers...

I make all of my own Clamps and Knives at %98 effectiveness and my friend makes %98 WUKs and AUKs.
Maybe I charge less because I can make a million credits on a set of buffs, idk.

A wise bothin once said "Too many people forget that the economy in SWG is just another form of PvP"
Charge whatever you want. Just remember that Doctors are making 5X what you are and have much more repeat business.

Ive been slicing since launch, and I too have maintained an "old-school" pricing scheme. Back in the day 3k was considered overpriced, but now its seen as pretty cheap for most of my customers. I dont feel like changing either... I feel guilty when I charge more.

Hehe, i used to charge 2k to people in my hometown, 3k elsewhere. Now, 5k is the minimum, but 3k if you're an aquantance, and free for my close friends. I think i'll start RP'ing a smuggler and charging 7k or so, smuggler's are in it for the money, and they don't give a damn.
Of course.. if i see a guy in some bone armor and a shoddy weapon, it makes me want to cry. I usually send a tell that i'll slice his/her gun for free
Bone armor makes me cry for some reason
Ah well, we as a profession provide a service that goes WELLL beyond 2-3k. In today's economy, a average gun will run you 15k. How much do crates of powerups cost? Those are only temporary improvements. How much would a weapon component cost if it added 35% to damage? More money than you could imagine. Price accordingly guys. Well, price to what you feel is right... i'm starting to feel 5-7k myself...

You should know that the quality of you tools has NO effect on the outcome of your slices. A 70% clamp or WUK is no different than a 98% tool.
