Thread: Petition: Knowing the Slice!

It has been said many times since the begingin of the game, that a Master Smuggler should be able to if not determine the % of the slice, at LEAST determine WHAT kind of slice they will do. As with Doctors after the Doc revamp, they have been able to set the buffs and can adjust the buffs depending on duration or potentcy. Now this may have been brought up before, but I feel it needs adressed again. Since I have ended my character as a Smuggler/TKA, I wanted to see what others felt on teh subject. I think your tools should determine the type of slice or % you get as a smuggler. If you use crapy stuff you get a crappy slice, same as a Doc. I think this would also make the Smuggler a value to the people that use them. If I know I can get a effectiveness slice on 80% comp, you think the customer will be happy? How about a speed slice on a high damage LLC or Flamethrower? If a customer goes to a Master Smuggler with great tools, and asks for a specific slice, we shold be able to give it to them, as it is now, we toss a coin and say oops.. sorry, or sweet, you got what you wanted. Notice I am not asking for knowledge of the % the slice will be, just the TYPE of slice to use, the % can still be random. The random strength of the slice should remain as it is, so to give the profession some risk in the slice.

This is at least the THIRD petition of this very topic in the past couple of weeks. Does anybody ever actually READ the forums???

No Wayne, they do not. People post stuff after going into a rage over something that happened or something they have been long pissed about and finally snap. I think it is more of a "feel good" solution for them. I am guilty if this myself, so I am not going to say anything more.

Just because something has been said by players doesnt mean its good for the game...there should be chance in everything especially in the smuggler world

edit: Its ok this guy is new to smuggling and to the smuggler boards...guess he hasnt seen the half dozen other petitions and threads about this junk...

Actually, there was no upraor when I posted this thread, it was simply a suggestion to get some action to the Smuggling proffession. Why would any smuggler NOT want to be able to chose what type of slice to be able to do? That seems stupid. I guess youwould like to go back to the old way of getting buffs as well? As for reading the forums, I read alot, and didnt find anything recent, that is why it was posted. Either support the petition or not, the idea still remains, and the prinicple is sound. Low %= a free slice for most in my book, since I dont get them often. Keep it random on the %, but atleast let us chose or the customer chose what THEY want.

I suggest you read the forums and you will find the many arguements pro/con in the pick-O-slice polls that came before this one. Then you wont have ask that question.
