Thread: Will there be a secure smuggling interface with the revamp?

I walk into coronet and ask to get a weapon sliced. I ask if any masters can slice my weapon, I recieve a /t from a player offering to slice for a fee. I give them the weapon. Then they perform a /laugh and run off. I never see them or my weapon again.

This is a far too common occurance. Is there anything in the works for a secure slicing interface for smugglers and their clients? Since the devs have stated that "roleplaying" a theft with a smuggler character is not somthing to be done.

A secure way of slicing would be very beneficial to smuggers. Think about how much business a smuggler looses because many players are unwilling to trust a stranger with their weapons. A secure interface would solve that. I'm not a smuggler so forgive me if this idea has already been discussed or is in the works (I dont frequent the smuggler board often )

Do you have the whole conversation in your log still? If so put in a ticket, people can get banned for scamming like that.

This idea ahs been discussed since people first started making it to smuggler.

No offense, but this isn't a common occurence. If it were you would see alot more outrage on the forums. Also, most smugglers have more slicing business than they can handle which is one reason many of em keep their titles off until they are in the right frame of mind to slice. And lastly I'm willing to bet it wasn't even a smuggler who stole your weapon because that's professional suicide for any smuggler to be labeled a thief.

I hope the guy who stole from you gets banned. One thing most smugglers I have ever met pride themselves on is integrity because players have to trust em. Yes, a secure interface would stop some of the scamming but don't give your hopes up they told us not to ask for ui changes (like the ids got) because how busy their ui team is. Course maybe not that they moved the revamp up 3 months they may be open to the idea.

For now I suggest only using smugglers in your own pa if you belong to one or one you can trust thru references from friends.

A Smuggler's Life
The devs need to watch star wars again. Luke was a whiny baby with the hots for his own sister. Solo was the rockin smuggler with the blaster, the chick, (a personality) and a wookie.

im sorry this has happened to you. one has to ruin it for many. i dearly hope you did a report or atleast got a screenie to submit to soe. and with dirt bags like that. please feal free to say his name (if you have a screen to prove it). i am so paranoid about a theft scam accusation that it drives me batty when someone has me slice containers and tells me to destroy it if there is nothing valuable in them. (i dont look inside them).

i am smuggler, fear my cork guns
episode II: i am no longer smuggler i no longer fear the cork guns or the delay on the delay for the revamp.. leave a message after the beep when revamp comes and then i shall return. but then maybe i will show them and do a delay on my return.. ha!!! take that soe (if they have not frustrated me more then i already am)

Sorry to hear that. As it has been said use only those that ya know. Best ideal is to post in ur server forum and find one that advertises there. Reputation is the best friend a smuggler can have.
