JTL is 100% twitch based.
There are command you can learn and use in space, but your stats dont matter up there ... so nither with spice.

Rats, was hoping that pilot's skills + limitations of ship might affect stuff, and by using spice the ship might, I dunno... respond better or some such.

Having spices that affected your roll/yaw/pitch acceleration rates might be a tough sell, but they'd be pretty neat. Claim that they improve the pilot's perception or something. Ok, maybe not a good idea for "game balance," but something to kick around.

Okay, noob smuggler (0-1-1-0) / JTL question... everyone beefs about spices being superceded by Brandy and foods in the ground game. I haven't received my JTL disk yet, so I'm just wondering if there's any aspect of space combat that any of the Spices might really be good for. ie. More useful in JTL than they currently are in the ground game.

People have mentioned the space missions are more self-contained & quicker and that it is easier now to play for an hour or 45 minutes and not have to go through all the buffing etc. It seems to me this sort of play could possibly open the door to a little more spice usage. For example, if strength doesn't matter in piloting, -100 Strength is no big deal, right?

Has anyone experimented with this? Are the downsides as much of a drawback to piloting?

I'm about to hit Master Merchant and can see setting up a Spambot to advertise the 'new usability of X spice'.

Being on Kettemoor and digging the RP a little, I think spice usage should definitely be a part of piloting! (I mean, even in RL, Air Force pilots are known to be serious speed phreaks! Not to mention truckers which long haul freighter pilots must be akin to, right?)
