You're right. We need to educate these poor folk before its too late.
Incidentally, you might wish to add me to your list, seeing as we're on the same server.

That makes two of us, Im also on bria.
I dont know whats up with all the new smugglers, but I got a good hunch that it has to do something with JTL. Just a cool combo.

I've been awat from SWG for some time. Finally decide to come back and decide to go for smuggler, and a Dancer as a cover profession. So I spend alot of the time in the cantinas, unless Im out wielding my pistol. Every time I meet, greet, see, or seek a smuggler I add them to a friends list so I can keep track of the smuggling community on Bria. Well this past week I seem to add 3 new smugglers a night!! My list is extensive and still growing. I hardly see any spice users. So am I missing something? Are other servers seeing a rise in smuggler professions?? This just perplexes my mind.

These are people that have discovered that FD is a very powerful tool. That's all I have to say about that.

I agree, apart from FD users, i do on the contrary see a fall in the number of smugglers (on Kauri i mean), i got used to hide my title and just let people who depend on slicing do their business, now you just see people looking for smugglers, no more smugglers looking for customers. Incidentally that allows a good pricing

Well it has yet to stop, lol. I think the constant smuggler sightings just might have to do with the fact that I work in the cantina with none other than Dravis the privateer trainer and Talon of the 'Smuggler [cough] Alliance'. However a week before JTL I added one like every other day, but 4 within the hour. Just before server shutdown, another Master came in. My last count was about 40+ smugglers that I know of by title. Also if smuggling is such a crime for the empire, and freelance piloting has been disassembled by the empire, then Im sure the local governor would like to know that both organizations are being operated in a cantina that has two armed storm troopers. Who do nothing.
Im happy to see some imperial players come in now and then to do RP Sweeps. Its fun until someone brings in an ATST.
Muj/Havok what are your in game names??
Havok I will certainly check out your shop, Im always interested in making new contacts.

I think if you opt to make your list applicible for Master Smugglers instead of the sole slicers or rogues, you may be able to thin out that list.

Its almost gotta be JTL. In space the limitations of the class are no hinderance, after all your success in space is 75% skill 25% ship. On the ground its 99% template. So Smugglers with our fairly gimped groundside inherant skill set are not hindered in space.
I can honestly say that before I got JTL I considered dumping smuggler every time I thought about my template. Since JTL Ive not thought about dumping smuggler at all.
Does it bother anyone else that Smugglers didnt recieve the "slice" part of Shipwright profession. They can effectivly "slice" looted components. Looted components arent that bad either, due to market conditions ...demand way outstripping supply for player crafted components a lot of folks (myself included) are using looted ship parts and they work just fine.
