It does seem silly that this template would receive little to no attention for such a long period...even if they were to simply fix the uber slicing goof, so Slicing 4 would work, making it possible for smuggling to be a real money making job, I would imagine that would be a start. I know it would make me happy.
I am finding that most dropped the Master and have reduced to Slicer. Its a shame to be sure.

Good luck pulling good prices with slicing 4 is all i'll say. You really need Master Smuggler to stay marketable.

Now, is it my imagination, or does it seem that Master makes no difference in the quality of the slice? I'm not a smuggler, but our clan leader is, and he moved down to slicer. His slices seem to be the same. Correct me if I am wrong please.

Your wrong. Master Smuggler (although undocumented in the box) DOES get a range increase on their slices. Read the FAQ posted in the forum.

GreenMarine (a dev) came here and straight up told us that Masters do indeed recieve a bonus to slicing. Based on more than a year of data we have determined that Slicers have a cap on weapon slicing at 30% and that Masters have a cap at 35%. The numbers for armor I can't pull off the top of my head because I dropped smuggler 4-5 months ago. I think the cap for armor slicing is Slicers 35% and Masters 45% for encumbrance and another set of numbers (which are lower) for effectiveness. That is significant.

actualy when I was slicing 4 people would pay pretty good and not really question it I would just say I can get you up to a 30% slice and they would not care. I have been paid up to 40k a slice just because I would say it cost be this much to slice, but I do not charge so pay me what you feel, if you feel I did not do a good job then dont pay. After I say that people would be more willing to pay more.

I've had only slicing 4 since May. While I do get the occasional person who'll move on to someone else if I say I'm not mastered, most people aren't too concerned with it. Mind, I've been told my prices are rather cheap compared to most so maybe that's why. ^_^ I haven't had any real complaints, though. Nothing beyond the normal "omg u suk u riped me off" routines.

I've found that no one wants a slice from anything other than a master smuggler, just like they don't want armor, weapons or much of anything from anyone other than a master.

that is because you won't go to Mos Eisley. You'd be surprised how much fun it is to interact with newer players. They don't need 80% composite. They just need something to help they stay alive through that period of time where they have 6k to their name. There seems to be this breed of gamer that takes over MMORPGs and says that nothing is worthwhile unless it is the top of its class. But there was supposed to be some kind of curve where we learn the game, get good at things, and work up to killing that dreaded adversary, the Mutant Womprat. One day we should find ourselves with 60k in the bank and looking for a fair set of ubese armor. instead the push is for the endgame. Get buffed and get full composite and get to killing rancors. Maybe I'm just bitter today, but I think there is a market for newer slicers. How about slicing a suit of bone armor to make it a little bit better for some newer player who only has 3k to spend?

Personally, i think more people will pay for a 'Slicer' bc they dont know a Master smuggler, or a smuggler in general, can slice ... but id rather walk around wid my master tag then just the slicer.

Yup, even myself who hasa novice smuggler with slicing level 4; when I went to find a smuggler with my other characters (BH and Commando, I know I'm a glutton for punishment) I went with the Master Smuggler because you just get better slices. Got a 32% damage slice on my flamer as a matter of fact.

Not sure but I do know the Master Smuggler who sliced my armor was good. I went from 80% Kinetic, 80%stun, 66% base to an 85% base, my armor freakin rocks now. When I go buffed and all armored out I can stand toe to toe with almost anything (PvE) and take em down with my Commando.
