Ok, just reporting what I read in a thread on the JTL board containing answers someone got from Devs at a recent comic con. Anyone want to give their opinion on this answer?

66. Will smugglers actually be able to smuggle with jTL?

Yes, the smuggler revamp was delayed so they could incorporate it into JTL.

Hmmm?

See...that still suggests to me that Smugglers are being FORCED to purchase the expansion in order to fully realize their profession.

For argument's sake, lets say I don't want to (or can't) buy the expansion for whatever reason...does that mean I will never fully realize my role as a Smuggler?

Smuggling should be equally implemented into the ground game as well as the space game...otherwise, they should have just left Smuggler out of the game entirely until JtL...

I thought we were not a JTL profession? I trust nothing they say, I will believe it when I see it. But thanks for the info, its good to know people are still pressing the Dev's about Smuggler.

You will get some ofthe JTL content asa freeupgrade but not be able to partake in the JTL specifice parts. If not, then will have to divide all galaxies in 2, basicly identical, parts. One for those with JTL and one for those without. All content that can be applied to all "exisiting" content will be puched out as a freeupgrade.

Guys they're not saying you need to buy JTL to smuggle. From their perspective it would be a pain in the ass to first develop smuggling on the ground... only to do it again months later for JTL. It would take too much time. It's a little cleaner to develop smuggler fully fleshed out on both land and space at the same time when they can be focused on "smuggling" in a more potent way.

Separate them and you could get a half-assed unthought-out ground and space smuggling. Besides... they might get some cool ideas working on the JTL smuggling and apply it to ground or vice-versa.

More focus at one point in time to do it right. Much better than two uncommited attempts.

I'll believe it when I see it.
