Thread: What am I supposed to do for... 8 months?

I really really want to keep my character. But I don't want to cancel my account as I don't want to take any chances of losing said character. What is there to look forward to, not even smuggling wise, that might possibly keep me interested in this game until March-ish, well after JTL (SHOULD BE) is out, when the smugglers finally do 'spacey profession' related things? What are theupcoming publishes going to have for the majority (NON-Jedi)?

Try to unlock your fs. The development won't come to us so I guess ya might as well go to where the development is.

When is the 'new jedi system' coming in? I don't want to grind away at every profession... It took me long enough to work up to Master Pistoleer & Smuggler, with some grinding. What IS the new system supposed to be, anyway?

Next publish is the new unlocking system so we should see it in January

Supposedly next publish. Unless they plan to start a new expansion to be publixhed after jtl and forgo the rest of the jedi revamp for the 'ewok's revenge' or some crap. For now, if you truly don't want to cancel you could go exploring and just try some quests as ya run into em, do some group hunts with friends, change your template and do some pvp. Or take a break and do something offline.
Personally, I don't have a lot of time any more so I jumped on the bandwagon with rifle\doc (cause rifle is overpwoered and to damn many cms in the game not to have doc) and decided I'm just going to pvp in the horribly broken system we have until I can't stand it any more and cancel lol.

don't worry about them deleting your character....they only say that its not guaranteed after 3 months to keep people subscribed.....i came back after 6 months and my character is still here......

I'm not sure I like the sound of this new "quest-based" system for Jedi... it sounds an awful lot like Epic Weapon quests in EverQuest, and eventually people were twinking new characters with those... Then again, the combat system in SWG is so dysfunctional now, I shouldn't really expect people to be able to complete some of the more difficult battles. 
I guess I just won't be happy until there is a very minute and finite amount of Jedi slots per server, and once that very small total has been reached, there can be nonew Jedi until one of the old ones leaves. The very definition of "game-breaking"= any MMO Star Wars game where there are literally thousands of Jedi playing amongst other players. I can honestly say I'm afraid that SWG may turn into Jedi Wars after a year...

So true. SOE made the grave mistake. Never create a independent superior class, ever.
Take a break from SWG, when you come back it might be more fun. As said, don't worry about your slot, several people have gotten away with 6 month old characters.

Unsubscribe and go play outside for a bit. Your char will be patiently waiting for you.

I've pretty much decided to cancel my account, at least for a while...like a year.
If I put 6 months of maint in my house and resubscribe before then will it still be there?

see how many afk combatants you can kill around towns by aggroing high level mobs into them and then feigning death... works best in geo caves.. people afk there all the time..

if you are gone for a year put in a year's worth of maintenance
