Fellow Hopefulls,
I'm not trying to stir the storm here. But, with everything that's happenned in this past year, I've basically resigned myself to have no expectations for SWG until they are actually active in live play.
Basically, I'll either cancel my account or shut the fock up.
And I haven't cancelled so...
Understand, this is MY view. I dislike it when people tell others "if you don't like it, then un-install" or do what ever. What I've written here is something I've adopted for me, not evangelizing to anyone.
The one thing that I do find peculiar is that GreenMarine hasn't made one post since June 29thaccording to "Find All Posts". I don't know what's going on, so it's hard to fault him personally, but a one word post of "hello" wouldgo a long way for me, personally, toknow he's alive. SOE won't let him do even that? /shrug
Once again, I'm just ruminating here on what would give me a clue.
Second, during this "mean"-time (the period offrustration until something ACTUALLY changes) I invite you all to take a look at a site dedicated to the potential of Role Playing in SWG. "Tales of the Outer Rim" at SWGTales.com/forum is made up of a handful (15 -20) of longtime players who are dedicated to create their own content regardless of what's going on (or NOT going on) in some designer conference room somewhere.
I know the majority of players are not role players, and that's personal preference. But, I do know that a few weeks ago I had a "Bobby Knight moment", taking "at" a friend, when I decried the lack of role play in what's supposed to be a "Role Playing Game". That friend had just recently found out about this group and recommended them to me and vice versa.
Well, all I can say is that in the last 2 weeks I've been having a blast in-game. A fact that is still hard to believe to me. I'm not suggesting this to everyone, because like I said, roleplay isn't for everyone. But if you are a roleplayer that's frustrated by the lack of it, or if you're curious and think you might want to try it, check out SWGTales.com/forum.
RESPECT

I agree, RP can save this game for many people. Sunrunner has a few really good RP groups and their events are always a blast
