Thread: A couple of questions for ya

Ok the first is for any Starsider Smuggs out there. I am in need of a good guild to join on this server? Any suggestions?

The Second is I have a lil extra money on hand and was wondering which upgrade to the my PC would benefit me more

More RAM..I only have 512 as of now

A new Video Card...Currently have an ATI Radeon 9800 pro

A newer faster Hard Drive..

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

at the launchpad screen if click the options tab before you click Play you disable all these different things- it makes the game look ugly but the performance improves greatly.. your eyes get used to it and then its cool.


idk about upgrades cuz i hear ppl still btch about lag and they got like monster computers maxed and stuff, and there like dam i'm lagging still...

One word: Memory


I was told that the game only addresses 1 gig, but that jump from 512 to 1 gig was MONSTEROUS. The game loads 2 times as fast as it did, and lag at our favorite spots (Coronet Spaceport) was virtually eliminated.


The jump for me between 1 and 2 gig, however was not as dramatic.

i have 1gig ram and the game is glorious...of course i also have a 120gb hd and nvidia pci-express 6800 go card


but then i had run the game for a long time on a ati mobilitym6 graphics card so my pc upgrade was well deserved



graphics look better but i think the ram is most important tahts what speeds things up and gets things done


edit: also please drool at my specs

awesome 2 know.. i've only seen game at 512 so far.. i definatley upgrading..


The humans on my machine- their faces are painted like clowns.. For real. Because I disabled some feature and all the humans- they have this green face paint on and sometimes red or yellow spots- like a clown, but hey! My games running smooth as buttah!
