Thread: Smuggler Mission on Kasshyk

the mission starts within the myyrdyn cave (damed wookie namesI never can remind!!!!)the cave is within the dead forest. I apologize not being able to give the wp, but I am not currently connected.

The smuggler is on a bridge of stone when you leave the village in the cave to walk in the direction of the big wooden bridge....

He explains how his business works and then ask you to find some imperial weapons in a camp. The camp is outside the cave on the right after crossing the river.

When you come back he gives you a good XT44 black with pistol skills modificators. As far as I remember +13 pistol speed and +8 pistol accuracy.

It's a POI called Abandoned camp in the dead forest. Look for a largish container towards the back or the camp.


The nice thing abotu the gun is its description. It says that it's a copy of a gun used by a famous Corellian smuggler. Gee wonder who that could be.

the smugglers name is shady btw....lol so whhen you get to the lower part of the cave just do /tar shady and you will find him.

This is a replica of han solos gun, for looks and rp only... if you were to actually pvp with this, your anus would become the holland tunnel... not that playing as a pistoleer wont already earn you that dubious honor.

For solo PvP yes... for group PvP, well, that is a different story. Throw a SAC reduction PUP on it (base SAC is 75), and it is more viable than most crafted pistolsif you are firing off large amounts of specials for crowd control/mezz'ing and not trying to nuke with a pistol.


Of course.. not saying it is "uber" by any stretch but it can get the job done with style.

Of course, people will still buy into the idea that 340+ base dps guns are the best things out there, even though the best trickshotting pistol out there would have minimized speed and sac, and will leave damage to other group members.

hehe. i dunno. Seems like about the only "crowd control" style we have is the smuggler root. Stopping shot is basically worthless in comparison.


Now whether or not states are useful in bringing down someone is kinda debatable. Would they have died anyhow? Well, not if the root didnt stick them, did they die faster because of all the states? Maybe, but they would have died anyhow because they were rooted. See what I mean?


This is why smuggler/rifle is probably the best of both worlds at present. Throw in pistol disarm, and with startle shot... and you are uber and you still have enough points leftover for scout so you can skin a few hides.

btw, when you are on your way to talk to shady, talk to the really short shaman not far from him...you pass him on the way to the smuggler. He has a small quest where you pick up stones from the last river you cross on your way to the caves...he rewards you with a mystical stone that lets your teleport out of the cave all the way back to Kachiro.

It's a one step quest with no real combat, and the stone is quite handy.

Check the Quests and Items forum for a good walkthrough of things like this.

And enjoy the pistol...it looks sweet.
