Okay, I'm trying to sort all this out. If it costs me 10k to buy 125 FP from the NPC, then I am paying 80 credits per FP. BUT, when I transfer them, it costs me 118 FP (at Colonel)to give 100 FP, so..my actual cost is 80*118/100 which is 94.4 credits per FP.
Is this correct? I have never sold FP as a Smuggler before and wanted to make sure my math was right.

Correct...
Somebody posted a handy utility called FactionCalc in one of these threads a while back. I have no idea when, or in what thread...but it's just a simple .exe file that you download to your comp. It then does all the math for you. You choose your rank, how many points you're selling, and what price you're selling for, then hit "Calculate" and it spits out how many points you'll actually have to buy, how much your cost will be, how much the customer will pay, and your profit. Very handy....

this is correct as long as you talk about imp faction, Rebs do have a reduction on their costs because they have won Cries of Alderaan. But don't remeber how much this reduction is, i'm imperial).

Oh ok, so then really the only way to profit off of fp is to just stick to one faction and make colonel?? When a friend of mine was asking about it, I told him that I heard the rate was 125/fp and even at that he said that seemed expensive. Now I realize thats a colonel's price. So as a private I would have to sell 471.015/fp to basically break even cause it will take 13fp to delegate 2fp to another right?

Yup. The only way to really make a business out of FP sales is to stick to a single faction.
