Thread: Starsider Smugglers Help me create a series of smuggler quests :)

Ok so we have no idea how long its gonna be before we get our smuggler missions. However, I created a system a while back that links player venders with a website to create "smuggler quests".

Essentialy, one Vender sells say a crate of stuff and also a sign. The sign has a quest number (i.e. SMQ001). You jot down the number, purchase the crate and load onto the smuggler quest website. You then enter the quest number from the sign and plug it into the website's quest search. The website then presents you with a dialogue from the vender giving you all the info you need on where to smuggle that crate too. For instance, a list of coordinates for a path to follow throughout the Kessel system and a waypoint on Tatooine.

Its then your choice on how far you take the mission. You can either have some fun and fly through the coordinates in space role playing along the way, or just simply head to the waypoint on tatooine.

Once ya reach the waypoint on tatooine, you'll find another vender where you sell the container too for however much credits the previous vender said he'd pay you. This vender may also have a mission for you too and so the mission ring is born.

I've tested it, it works greate. However, it needs people to work! What I'd need help with is:

  • Merchants to place as many different smuggler quest venders around the Starsider galaxy as possibe

  • Crafters to create lots and lots of loot to use for each smuggler quest

  • People to help create the quests

  • Smugglers to take part in the quests

I know its not quite what we want, but it could be a lot of fun to pass the board hours of the day. If we're clever, we could even create a large criminal hideout filled with venders to mimick the crime lord and his minians, each giving quests.

Ofcourse, there's no reason why this should be limited to Starsider either, if anyone else on any other server wants to try it I'll allow ya to use my website quest system too

So what ya say? yay or nay?

Have you tried the server forum? while we have Smuggler/Merchants here, you're more likely to get responses from Starsider merchants that're interested there.

I wanted to know if you guys are even interested in it first before I go to the trouble of recruiting people ... I don't want to have a bunch of venders set up if I'm the only smuggler doing them

You should try to get some people to roleplay like security, checking out your cargo, just roleplay of course, unless you wanted some sort of bad thing to happen if you were found out"

You could use one of the dice or something, dunno. It sounds like a cool plan though

I have a whole list of people that would gladly role play as authorities to stop an scan your cargo if people doing these wanted it, thats certainly not a problem

I could set up a vendor for you, i have a house on lok in Aden Kotra. Its a tavern so sticking him in there would be perfect.

I suggest using creature habitats for the "goods" since they are craftable and can be named whatever you want. the look just like a un/locked container.

Come on guys, I know it may not be the answer your looking for but its all we got!

People could make stories and stuff, this cantina owner's in some trouble with a hutt and needs you to smuggle this illegal goodie bag to the hutt's home without being caught by authorities, who else is gonna do this job but SMUGGLERS.

Yep thats exactly the point and the more venders we can get, the more story lines we can create. Maybe to the point where we can create our own little Jabba's Palace-style theme park but that would obviously involve a LOT of effort to get it working.. lots of back round plots, characters, etc.

What if some of the mission givers (ie the ones in my tavern) give jawa beer as part of the reward?
