I was out faction farming rebels and an overt rebel came along. I was in the middle of fighting the rebels and he was a rifleman (against me with a 12 ranged defense, my pistol and a helmet without stun layers) so I knew I was in trouble. A few head shots later I was almost dead so I quickly used feign death and went down. I had the little feign death icon up by my name and he came over and was clearly trying to kill me, but he couldn't. Next thing I know he is attacking me and doing damage. I asked him how and he replied that he was using advanced strafe shot, which was apparently hurting me even while I was feigning death. It ran down my helmet and gave me a ton of wounds, but in the end my tef wore off and I was okay.
My question is, was this an exploit for him to be able to damage me even with feign death working? Also, is there any limit to how long feign death will work?

there are ways to attack you while in feign, but the response i got from a few CSR's was that someone wound grifing you and destroying your armor while your in feign is considered grifing so just /report him

Have you ever been, or know of someone getting hit my a CM's poison/disease while under feign death? What about other DOTs like fire, because he was able to stick a bleed on me. A bleed is a pretty minor DOT but a burn or something from a CM and I'd rather not use feign death and just take the trip to the cloners.

I've FD'd through some CM mind poison. I've also done it through Sarlaac disease (but not too close to the pit mind you or it keeps spitting it up).
I'm not sure if the posture up shots still work or not but they used to force you out of Feign back to prone or kneeling.

I have been hit with CM poison/desease when under feign, if hte DOT hits before i feign then fair enough, if they hit it after ive feigned, then its /report. Had a CSR show up and help me out on several occasions, but had them refusing to help out on a few other. But with meditatethe wounds are not a problem, and with the cantinas full of entertainers the BF is not a problem and a 400k suit of armor, whats a 400k suit of armor, il just charge em more the next time they come to me to get faction items, or just raid a few bases and take those out (not alone of course). in the words of Tupac
"i aint a killer but dont push me, Revenge is like the sweetest joy nextto getting p*ssy"

The exact same thing happened to me but i was farming Imps. What made it worse was while i was feigned not only was he griefing me but his buddy who happened to be a MCM (suprise, suprise) came from no where and joined in. It bugs me that people feel the need to ruin armor and health just because they cant DB you.

How do I /report people exactly?
This happens to me too. People get really pissed because I use FD and then they proceed to apply poison/disease, or use their flame thrower etc. etc. to wound me. I don't wear armor specifically because of this, and until this thread I didn't know it was considered an exploitable offense. Wounds I don't mind so much about because it helps other people level their skills, but destroying armor is just spiteful.
It's nice to know that a CS might be able to help me out sometimes. Like the above poster said I agree that itsOK to suffer the consequences of a DOT or something if itis applied BEFORE /FeignDeath, but not after you are already incapped...total griefing IMHO.

This is technically allowed since feign death wasn't meant for PvP. The devs are aware of this issue, and don't seem to care, but we're trying to get it in part of the revamp.

Rifleman Headshot, Carbineer Posture-Up and CM Poisons/Diseases will ALL pull you out of Feign Death.
Sadly, there is a moron working on Exploits, so don't even bother reporting it to the guy at SOE who takes care of them.

yeah, if you report an exploit in pvp then youa canned responce from CSR_ChrisO. syas csr's can't get involved in pvp issues cause it might lookt to be favoratism. which is BS. all he's allowing people to do is get away with cheating. i'm in the process of trying to talk to someone higher up in the CSR community, but so far haven't had any luck. time will tell.
as for feign death, yes it sucks that they can still attack you while you're feigned. i've been bled, poisoned, diseased, set on fire, etc whle under feign. and i never knew this is considered griefing.. I always thought that it is because you are in effect "playing dead" meaning that if you did that in RL (and i know this isn't RL) the person attacking you could still kick, hit, shoot, whatever, you. so that is my take. but if its considered griefing then i'll be letting people know about that next time.

Not meant for PvP? That's no fun, having it for PvP is a major bonus as far asI am concerned, I hope they don't take it away. Smuggler does not need things taken away.
