Thread: PUP Exploit still alive on Radiant?

Had a guy ask me to slice a bunch of weaps in Theed the other day. At 5ka pop, I was looking at well over 100k. Nice little paycheck.
Condition was, I HAD to use the "powerup exploit".
I'm on Radiant, and I haven't heard of this ina long time. I was under the assumption it was fixed. I did try it once, on my own weaps, out of curiosity, and it never worked (for me) anyways.
Well, I told buddy he was SOL, that I'd slice, but no PUP exploit. He seemed rather P'Od, and went to look elsewhere.
Is this still working, or is it an urban myth?

It still is around. I've been fighting a battle on Sunrunner about it. /sigh, if all weaponsmiths would just include the min/max damage and speed of the weapon in thge title this would be alot easier to fight

I called sony and talked to a tech support and expressed my extreme concern that this hasn't been addressed and it is damaging reputations and hurting the economy.
More people need to express their concern about this.

Yeah, this is finally getting on my nerves. What jackasses can't see the point where you are performing an action NOT MEANT TO BE DONE to get an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE over someone else. Last I checked, that was the very definition of an exploit.
We need to push for a statement on power-up slicing and it needs to be fixed FAST. I know CSRs and Caylin have stated it as being an exploit but we need an official ingame announcement in the Message of the Day or an email like they did with Holocrons and the Jedi stuff.
I don't think this is game breaking but it's a rampant and obvious exploit. You're friggin' bugging a game system into getting what you want. Anything outside of the normal system and rules of the game is an exploit. It's a clearly defined line with no gray area what-so-ever. The "I didn't know I couldn't do that" line doesn't work cause you're obviously bugging the slicing system so you can do something...and bugging or altering any game system to get an unfair advantage warrants a ban as clearly laid out in the Terms of Agreements or Service (the big contact thing).
As slicing is our only universalmeans of making money through our profession, this needs to be fixed. Not everyone wants to be an Imperial or Rebel and hence have the ability to sell faction. Not everyone adds TKM or Master Pistoleer to Smuggler so they can grind Janta/Mokk/Kunga for cash and ect. For many smugglers, this is their livelyhood and they're being run out through a group of people with an unfair advantage that's not even supposed to exist.
Here's the perfect example and I'll shut up after this:Say thatArmorsmiths theoretically could only make certain types of Stormtrooper or Rebel armor and had to be that faction to sell those many typesexcept for one box that granted them the schematic to craft armor that everyone was able to wear. Perfect for your non-factioned Armorsmiths, right?Now, a bunch of 'Smiths figure out how to change and bug the crafting stage so they could add additional protection to theuniversalarmor with no encumbrance. Well, your average 'smith is gonna be run out of business or at least hurt because they either don't know how to BREAK THE SYSTEM TO EXPLOIT IT or simply don't want to. You don't think the Devs would be on that like white on rice?
Same principle...this is the only thing that every smuggler can do and now it's being ruined by a bunch of second rate hacks. They're basically going to spoil it for the whole bunch.

Selusa will back me up on this when I say me and him don't see eye to eye on quitea lot of things, but this is one we have been working on together. I do appreciate his assistance as well as Caylin's (who actually stopped by and posted in the Flurry thread after I PM'd him, the WS correspondent and TH on thursday). I am glad to see smugglers willing to fight against this. Weapons are the only thing being affected by this so I think it's just as important to WS's as it is smugglers to get this stopped.

I've never used the PuP exploit, i've never done the multislicing even the multi-slice that is still in the game. People who use these are cheaters, they are the same people who play BF1942 and use the radar cheats or Aimbot. or one of a host of many cheats.. IMHO i dont think sony really cares that much. To me it seems that all that SOE cares about is their paycheqs and not about you and me.

Yep... our eyes are on two whole different planes lol
But yes... the community needs to form together and get this stopped. I'm tired of just idoly sitting here...
