Well, newbie Smuggler here again, and I've finished the spice tree after going to the artisan group and got some marco knowledge to help make it a lot easier.(I still had to be there adding the resources to each crafting tool so this was NOT a AFK marco)
Any way, started slicing containers, brought a couple crates of clamps, and had about 30 locked containers. As I started I thought it would be 1 clamp to 1 container. But, I use a clamp, cut the correct wire, I get the message that I got it right, clicked OK on that message, and it disappeared for about half a second, then came back. Clicked it again, and again it came back. Finally I clicked cancel and started over again. On the avg. I used about 3 clamps to give me the right wire color before I would click ok on the sucess message and I would get the xp, and it would open. Sometimes, it would work the first time, but most often it'll take 3 tries to open the containers, once as bad a five. (BTW during this I went back and picked up 2 more crates of 25) so, 100 clamps to open 35 containers.

You're doing it wrong. Only one clamp is needed. The steps are:
1) select Slice option on the locked container
2) select the clamp option.
3) Read the text in the upper box.
4) Cut the wire that the upper box mentions
5) Cut the other wire.
That's all there is too it... hope it helps you out.

If it makes you feel any better, it took me a bit to figure out that other wire bit. I hadn't noticed the second message says that one wire is already cut, I kept worrying I'd cut the wrong one and mess things up hehe.

Maybe it's just me getting this odd behavior. I do as you state, except for step 5. Sometimes (haven't found any logic to it) the "cut the second wire" dialog can be dismissed just by pressing Ok, other times it'll come back immediately after which I cut the second wire. Is this normal behaviour?
Anyway, it's no biggie, if the dialog returns after first Ok press, just cut the second.

For a while, the dialogues would automatically select the first available option—they've been playing with that code on TC, so I'm not sure how it works right now—so I'd imagine if the uncut wire appears first in the list you can dismiss it instantly, since the correct selection has already been made, but if the cut wire appears first the dialogue will recognize you as attempting to cut an already cut wire and it'll reappear.
