Thread: Wacky idea about auto-pulling being broken

The idea is that it's not broken at all, but working as intended. Now what I'm about to say is stretching it, and BIG TIME at that. But to me it sounds cool.
The latest publish (10) introduced a feature where you're "encumbered" and can't move if your inventory is too full.
JtL is promised to bring smuggling content, and rumors of having to carry things for other players have trickled out. These rumors are unsupported, and are really just wishes of the community, but they make sense, and I wouldn't be surprised if the devs implemented it when our "revamp" comes due.
Now, how does this relate to the auto-pull scenario?
Well, I've just been reading RandonB's thread in the pistoleer forums. In it he and the entertainer correspondent tell the community that a lot of the changes that haven't made sense to the community WILL make sense once we're aware of the over-all picture. This is coming from the Pistoleer Correspondant who has just as much reason to be upset about the current game as we do, so I don't believe he's sucking up when saying this.
So, what if the auto pull being "broken" was actually pushed into publish 10 as a means to get some coding out prematurely that enables Smugglers to have the sole ability to carry more than 60 items in their inventories?
I know, farfetched, but well, I'm tired and have nothing better to think about.

You will no longer be able to slice an item by using a tool in a crate. You will have to remove it from the crate first.
from publish 9 update notes....nothing is broken this is as it was intended to be. Inconvenient yes!
but realy all it dose is forces us to spend a lil longer on a slice job.

Thunderheart has said two things that show this is NOT as intended and is a bug that will be fixed. First, the last developer chat a Smuggler asked about the autopulling not working on Test Center for publish 10:
Brekkee - *Jospre* Why do Smugglers get no love. Currently on test a stealth Nerf went in that prevents WUK's, AUK's, PLK's, MolClamps, etc. from pulling auto from crates. What was the reasoning for this move as it now really slows down the slicing process expecially for large orders.
TH - The autopulling from crates was the result of a change to a different part of the system. I have support from the team to change it back. its just a matter of time now. Sorry for the inconvenience and yes we do love smugglers
Second, a post here on the forums:

Any hint as to whether slicing tools willagain autopull from crates in the near future?
The best hint I have at this time is that I'm working with Blair to get it added into a P10 minipublish.
