Thread: Anyone do the newb tutorial?

So... I was planning on getting up to novice smuggler with Starsider Gith last night... when I noticed that I had some of the 'new player tutorial' quest stuff to do. I had heard that it was worth doing, just for money and a badge... and since I'm about flat broke, I figured 'why not'. Meanwhile, as I was 'collecting 30 metal' for part of the 'quests', I fired up KOTOR2 on my Xbox... a little Star Wars multi-tasking, you know...
My question is... any of you guys have any idea how LONG that newb tutorial is? I finally got sick of it after I talked to the mayor of Mos Eisley. I coudn't help but think 'DAMMIT, its' DOUBLE XP RIGHT NOW!!!! Why the hell am I doing this???' So I got unarmed 3 at least before I had to crash for the night.
Anyone know? Is it like... a 10 hour quest or something?

long as hell, I remember getting a badge, but I'm not sure if that was "finishing" it or not...

I did it and yep it was long, but did you notice the combat trainer had nearly every weapon in the game laid out? There were a couple pistols I'd sure like to find out what they are...one looked like a .45 automatic with a silencer. It's on the center bottom shelf where all the pistols were.

Who starts the tutorial or is it just for new toons? My Starsider character was in place before they added this and I might take a walk through it one night when I'm completly bored.

I think it has to be with a new toon, I'm not sure, though. Haven't tried to start it with my pre-CU toons.
That's great to know it's 'long as hell', though... I think I'll put it on the back burner.

I tried going thru it - but I got stuck in a loop when i had to go talk to some entertainet and play ma slitherhorn to get 60 min of inspiration buff.
Once I got it and I tried to talk to the woman again - she just kept asking if I wanted to see her dance or to end conv.
Being the man I am - I aint gonna turn down a show - so i say sure. and she dances. Then its over. and it starts all over again.

Part of me felt like I was being used and manipulated when I talked to that chick.. because of COURSE you want to see her dance. But somehow it's more appealing than watching some player's toon dancing, because I know that there isn't a guy at the keyboard behind that dancer. Sure, maybe a guy did the coding, but at least it's a clean, sterile NPC.
