Right now, us Smugglers are going to beto using "plan B" for slicing breakage, because the system wasnt fun/not working as intended.
Now we have to camp loot zones, and slices last forever. But many of us liked the idea having repeat business when a customer needed to have his jammed gun repaired. No more jams. No brakage...
But! What if we use the exsisting CONTRABAN SCANS as a new way for breakage?!
How about this idea:
When you get scanned and caught with a sliced weapon, the imperial or rebel in question can...
1) force you to remove all the slicing bonuses. Weapon is reset to factory standards and you must see a smuggler again for a reslice (looted parts are returned to you. it'll be too cruel to have them "confescated")
2) As a veeeerrrryyy slim chance, break your weapon as an "example to others that slicing will not be tolerated!". Weapon no longer fuctions requiring a Smuggler to reset and retune...
Would this help? That way, scans are menacing again without griefing, And you're not in combat with that weapon at the time.
Theres your risk factor with a slice!
Possible argument: Wont that leave a person weaponless then if they really get in trouble with the scanning authorities? Well, most players already carry more than on weapon. If the more common scan and reset happens, they still have a full functioning weapon. If they REALLY get in trouble, thats the risk they took, and hopefully, the person in question will have nonsliced alternatives. Or, the breaking of a weapon can go for the equipted weapon only...
Now, as smugglers, not only our slicing business will grow, but also, the need to group with a Smuggler to avoid random scans!!! Now does that feel Star Warsy, and we have the risk factor in slicing again.
PLEASE give this some thought...And your own ideas, lets get this moving and have fun as a Smuggler again with all the new changes.

I think this needs to be in the Constructive Criticism thread.
A+ on that mate. A+ indeed.
