Thread: This is a joke, right?????

Let me get this straight here.........with all of the stuff that is broken in this game, they have to screw up the things that AREN'T really broken, but just in need of a tweak?????? Is it their dream to have EVERY profession suck equally????? I've endured this Combat Upgrade for several months now and its not so bad, so long as the things that are ACTUALLY broken ACTUALLY get fixed. That really hasn't been the case. Things that are broken are staying broken (Stopping Shot for Pistoleers) & things that aren't broken are being broken (Concussion Shot).


Who is the idiot that is wasting Developer talent on useless crap? Is there anyone in charge in this company that DOESN'T have their head precisely 8 inches south of their tailbone?????


They have nerfed Doctor since this beloved "upgrade", steriod-induced Bounty Hunter to near-god preportions, made Creature Handlers glorified pet lovers, made Commandos asuseless as a washed up drunk& they saw the need to add a "loot drop" system to screw over Slicing?????


It is so hard to get excited about ANYTHING in this game anymore. The things that I actually like about it, I would never write about in these forums. That would become a surefire way to target something for "nerfing".


The real lesson learned here is to be careful what you wish for. SOE will eventually make sure you get it, however their implementation of sed features will waste your time, money & patience.

Not really, Stopping Shotisn't broken and Cncussion Shot was. As for the loot system, its crap, I wanted the Hall Sweeper carbine of the SotS quest boss and found a delicate trigger assembly, who the hell cares about that and how expensive is a 2% slice going to cost if you need to kill levle 84 mobs to just get the parts.

Stopping Shot on every level, regular, improved & advanced IS broken. Every 2-3 times I use the shot, most other shots on my toolbar become disabled. Usually only one shot on my entire toolbar will work & that shot randomly changes. Sometimes it is Body Shot that works, sometimes it doesn't.


Where does SOE think this fits in with their new "Sat Warsy" fell inititive? I have watched all 6 movies & read every single EU novel & comic book available. I have YET to figure out how unsubstantiated killing for parts qualifies as the life of a Smuggler. Within the Star Wars & EU universe, it seemed to me that killing for any reason was always a "last resort" option when all else failed. Talon Kardde, Lando, Han, any of the smugglers in the Thrawn & Han trilogies only killed someone as a last alternative, NOT as the primary agressor unless engaged in warfare, like the Battle of Nar Shadda & the war with Thrawn.


Now, Smugglers, in order to Slice effectively, have to employee combat as the PRIMARY way to loot parts. Whose idea was that & have they ever HEARD of Star Wars, much less understand it.


For those familiar with the EU, or more specifically the Thrawn Trilogy, did anyone read about the slicer Ghent actually having to kill someone in order to slice something effectively? This new ridiculous concept moves Slicers just as far away from being "Star Warsy" as the current Jedi system.

I agree whole-heartedly, smugglers need to do "things" sneakily not bold in your face storm trooper fashion.

So basicaly you are saying that Stopping Shot is stopping you from fighting effectively. Sounds like a dev would say "Working as Intended"


Smuggler and Pistoleers are in the same boat with thier specials, the problem is the boat is the Titanic......

Well you can always get the low end components once you figure out how they drop. The others can be brought to you or you can buy them if you don't have the means of killing and getting them for yourself.

I was just trying to figure out the logic of an attack that you can use to avoid combat, but you have to perform combat succesfully to get the attack...kind of circular isn't it?

A point I forgot to make earlier that would clear up why I call ed Concussion Shot broken, it that this profession has clearly become a contradiction.


By having these components drop via loot & combatitizing this profession as much as they have since the CU, the title of the profession should be changed to "Mercenary" and not "Smuggler." With that in mind, the pre-pub 19 usage of Concussion Shot is more in line with a Mercenary. The newer version of the shot, however, is more Smuggler-like. Thats where the contradiction lies. Right now we have a more mercenary like profession with smuggler like shots, whereas before pub 19 & even pre-CU, we were more like Smugglers with more mercenary like shots.

All's I know is- I accidentally aggroed 3 NSs and I pulled out a Launcher pistol and Concussed them stopping them in their tracks. When the timer was off they unmezzed and walked away. I was super thankful for it at the time.
