So what?


Is there any reason in the game why you should hide the fact that you are a smuggler. like if you have spices do imperials come after you? Or if they see you have smuggler status are you marked a criminal? Chased by Bounty Hunters? What?



Or is it just a crafter, who makes food. And everyone acts as if its all evil to make and sell spices? I dont get it.

I odubt they will keep it this way or the class is pointless..except as a drug pusher.

I agree, something should be done to smugglers to make it funner, like place bounties on them for having spice, or other stuff.

Most people from beta were pushing for the profession to be renamed. As is it has nothing to do with smuggling. There are no smuggling skills and nothing is illegal. We pretty much only slice weapons and make spice. To me thats sounds like more of a criminal, crime lord, scoundrel, and using spice as an example Drug dealer.


Very unfortunate, but it can still be fixed and easily.Renaming the profession is the best idea for two reasons, 1. They can add a true to name smuggler profession in the SE. 2. We will have two shady underworld profession instead of the one. Criminals or, whatever the name turns out to be, make the spice and other illicit goods and smugglers, you guessed it smuggle it!


Will they do this? I don't know for sure, but I got some info that they know we are unhappy and that they are not happy with it either. So I am optimistic they are listening to us.

i say drop teh spice production throw in gambling skills and sabaccrename it scoundrel or gamblerand make smuggler available in the expansion

they should make it so that if you're carrying spice and you're seen by like cor sec or any other federal group they chase you. It'd make you kinda sneak around and if they caught up to you you could use you fast talking skills to get out of it etc...



Whats Worse than grinding a profession?
Grinding a broken proffesion.

I like the Idea of changing the name of smuggler to Gambler, Or Rogue. Maybe Maverick would be good to. I also think that maybe having Luck added to the Smuggler skill trees would be awsome. True that it should not be the same as jedi luck ( which is supposed to increase credits, and chences of getting items in general ) But that maybe it could involve othe rtypes of luck. Say you're in a fight, you're close to getting killed, when all of a sudden your opponents gun jams, or they trip and fall down over a twig. LUCKY, just like Han Solo. Smuggler can be like a space skill, add smuggling to like Freelance Pilot or something. Not sure how well these idea would work, but it's worth a thought at least.

Yeah, then we could change the name of the profession to 'Lucky Ba$tard', too...


I for one do not want the name of the profession changed to reflect the mess of skills and abilities, I want the profession content enhanced to reflect BEING a SMUGGLER.

It's so refreshing to hear such a new viewpoint on the state of the smuggler profession.

I felt like I fell into a time rift or something, this kind of talk is so old.


Smuggling is coming... I have faith. I'm keeping my expectations very low and indistinct, though... since if I expect something specific, it will surely not come to pass.
