Thread: New uber Smuggler template?
It's:
Master Smuggler
Master Pistoler
Commando 4xxx
Teras Kasi Artist Novice
and from fs skills:
Combat Prowess 22xx
Reflex 44xx
with you will have:
Ranged def 245
Melee defence 270
Ranged acc 206
Ranged speed 106
What do you think about it?
I know that the only way of healing will be stimpacks, but with that def there will be not much to heal
I've been thinking the new uber template for smuggler will be;
- Master Smuggler
- Master Pistoleer
- Combat Medic 4000
4000 combat medic is what BHs use to stay healed when fighting Jedi. Of course, they can choose any weapon they want to use because BH has a prerequisite of ranged support... we smugglers are stuck with pistols because of our marksman requirement of pistols (grr!).
Best I can tell, this would give you some wicked skills... master level concussion, stopping shot, fan shot, body shot, last ditch, feign death, disarming shot, firearm strike... and some well rounded defenses. Mostly, the reason you'd go for this template is the ability to heal fast, for low mind cost and for 2k health each heal.
Yep, if you can heal for that much, while being able to concuss, last ditch and feign death-you'd be one SUPERtough guy to kill. You're only limitation would be your limited pistolrange (the 2 ranged cyber arms will help).
P.S. Dont forget! We smugglers also have lesser center of being!

What works for me, and yes, this is my completed smuggler template..
- Master Smuggler
- Combat Prowess 4,4,0,0
- Enhanced Reflaxes 4,4,0,0
- Hightened Senses 4,0,0,4
- Force Defense 0,4,0,0
- Force Healing 4,4,0,0
- Force Powers 0,4,0,0
People assume that once you make it to initiate that you have togo all the way to knight, but if you just use some force powers to augment another class, in this case master smuggler, youcan bea "hybred"and actuallyhave apretty powerfull template.
Just having force cloak / fiegn death / & "mez" shots will allow you to go to a lot of places that other master classes and even full template knights can't go.
Plus, it's fun way to at least role play bounty hunters coming after you as a smuggler.
Somthing to consider.
- Melee Def: 200
- Ranged Def: 195
- Pistol Def: +20
- General Ranged Acc:140
- Pistol Acc: 40
- General Ranged Speed: 70
- Pistol Speed: 20
Plus I get to throw things like Imperial Detonators. Max 897 Damage with heat DoT, not amazing, but it deffiantely packs a punch, and could make a nice opener.
Stats: Master BH/Master Smuggler/Pistoleer 0-0-0-4
- Melee Def: 190
- Ranged Def: 205
- Pistol Def: 30
- General Ranged Acc: 145
- Pistol Acc: 40
- General Ranged Speed:65
- Pistol Speed: 25
You're deffinately looking at better Defenses with this template, and +5 accuracy. But you don't get to use thrown weapons. As a BH that really doesn't matter cause you can use Bomb Droids. *ponder* the figures are pretty good this way, but I'm not too sure.
*All number crunched using Kodan's So they could be way off.*

I'm having fun with:
M Smuggler, M Shipwright and some merchant tossed in for being able to sell what I make/slice. I'm a Freelancer Ace to boot.
Currently I'm:
- Master Pistoleer
- Master Smuggler
- 4400 Rifleman
- 4000 Combat Prowess
which gives me:
- Pistol Accuracy 247 (before adding in bonuses from items)
- Pistol Speed 95 (ditto)
- Ranged Defense 235
- Melee Defense 185 (low, but eating some food and throwing on center of being helps out)
Gotta use every root, daze, and snare to keep distance...hit with concussion and I can go out 64 meters and pull out a rifle...with a rifle I'm:
- Rifle Accuracy 292 (before item bonuses)
- Rifle Speed 70 (Low, but that's what speed slices and buffs are for)
- And the defense isn't even really worthpointing outat 205/155...by the time they're in range unless they're a rifleman or carbineer themselves I'm gonna be back to the pistol. If I'm pvping I have my 75% armor break armor on.
So I'm suicidal and went for mostly damage because I was tired of being the village wuss. My defense is based on food and being able to daze people for the occasional breather.AlternatingBody Shot and Head Shot seems to be the maximum damage output over time for me. Plus it's fun to concussion shot, walk back casually...lay down...and do a sniper shot just to break things up.
I'm sure hardcore pvpers would eat me alive in the end, but hey, I enjoy it anyways since I mainly pve.

This is my exact profession, and I'll attest to its greatness. Solo'in is just fine with this template. But where it really shines is in the second line of battle in a small-to-medium sizedgroup...right behind the tanks. They seem to like it when not only do you crowd-control and attack-control, but even HEAL them all at the same time. All from about 25m behind the main line. Its only weakness.....RANGE (pistols). Gottahop into thefray to be really effective. But then, if you areusingbacta-spray (AoE) to healthe tanks that is where you should be. It makesone feel good when group members say, "We don't need no stinkin' doc....we got Emon!" Overall, a well-rounded template that may not be a good 'Dmg-dealer', but excellent in what it CAN do (that is, keep you and your friends alive in almost any given situation).
I also imagine it would be very nice against multiple targets with a speed sliced pistol. Concuss, change target, stop shot, change target, concuss... repeat, repeat, repeat...
