I know its beta, and maybe something will change but my duel with an Imperial Assault armored Imp went horribly. I used the new DL44 XT, and proceeded to use just about every special open to Pistoleer/Smuggler. Even with the most powerful attacks, I did not even get him below 75% health while his electric lighting cannon fried me to a crisp. All of the state effects did not really phase him in the slightest it seemed cause he got off tons of attacks. The only way I got himbelow 90%was because I switched to my Incendiary III flamethrower and let him have it before I died.

I'm not sure I used the right weapon due to his armor, or whether my specials just were not kicking in or what, but my Commando skills were what gave me the chance, not the Pistoleer/Smuggler combo. True, this is all preliminary and I'll try again, but I want your feedback.

Is the Pistoleer/Smuggler combo viable for PvP? Should I drop Pistoleer and go complete Commando? My other skills building me up was the meditate line of TKA. Thanks for your feedback!

Well I suppose we can hope they will 'balance' it over the next two weeks. But I think more realistically we'll find that there are uber templates after the CU just as there were before the CU.

I really have never seen an MMORPG where all combat classes were balanced like SOE claims they are doing here. Show me, then I'll believe.

you simpley used the wrong wepon.

try useing the Renegade. it's a MUCH more powerfull pistol.

the only combo that will give you higher DPS(for pistols) besides MSugg/Mpistols is MBH/Mpistols...and it's only a matter of like 12dps.

Master Smug/Master Pistols will work just fine if you use it right. but from what i'm seeing NO template is gonna win all the time.

Yes, with this combo I was able to beat every melee guy I fought, most ranged, and all the Jedi that we too stupid to think to use saber throw(which turns out to be a lot).

I know i'm sold on the Smugg/pistols combo myself after todays testing.

I just want the Intimidator cert to be ours!!?!?!?!?! lol.

I was just having some fun testing on some lvl 22 Squills (I'm 80 - unsurprisingly). (Oh yeah... MS/MP/BH0040)

I didn't want to one-shot 'em, so I used my old scout pistol.

Starting with a low-blow, with a quick panic follow-up. Give's 'em -55% to attack speed. Quick disarm so he skips his next attack.
He comes runnin' at me - Imp. Concussion Shot to root him in place.
Hit him with the Adv. Confussion from BH to stun/dizzy.
Underhand from BH to hopefully knock him down (LB doesn't KD at the moment... Not sure if that's as planned).

I stood there awhile and watched it flail around. It was really PO'd.

Adv. Body'd it to death.

That... Was seriously fun. Can't wait to try some of this out with a rounded group on something bigger.
